The fluid/gel stuff can bunch up in one place messing with the wheel balance a lot. Been told to only use it when there is no other option.
Personally I'll avoid using it but if I have to the tire will be replaced ASAP. Its probably fine for smaller city cars that never reach highway speeds though.

Kinda impressed with the level of gear people are rolling with. tbh I fear we're suffering from confirmation bias here. though..only the people with gear are responding.
You seem to be convince of whatever you've got though so I'm all for it. It was many years back but all I know is that applying said product was a dismal failure & the shop told us quite distinctly "lol". BMW on Call was totally on the ball though...rescued us from Tweebuffelsmeteenskootmorsdoodgeskietfontein type town at 2AM. Was deeply impressed by that tbh...it was clear that the responder had been woken up just for us & he was cheerful & helpful.
The more I think of it the more I'm disappointed that SA doesn't enforce this stuff (road triangle, gloves, med kit, etc) with an iron glove. You can enforce real social change by throwing money at the right areas. e.g.

How does one buy those? Never heard of that tbh - all I know is that nurses that nuked to kingdom come with meds on potential exposure.

Reading through all the comments my kit seems like overkill but I have used most of it at some stage
Not a fair assessment imo. You don't realize how much gear you need until you have it. Having it also jogs your memory.
e.g. Co worker complains about day being a bitch & having a headache.
Version one "yeah it sucks"
Version two "hang on I've got an aspirin to help the situation".
Personally I don't buy having a gun in a SA road type situation though.
I'm sure any doc can help. Don't know if its controlled in some way so wont say where I got mine
Its just AZT and another pill I'm not familiar with. Expect to be pooping and puking for a month if you're lucky enough to miss the other side effects.HavocXphere

Well I've got pharam okes and some GPs and specialists that trust me deeply, but I don't think I can push that to AZT without raising some eyebrows. I mean were not talking aspirine here.I'm sure any doc can help. Don't know if its controlled in some way so wont say where I got mine
Afaik on the AIDS front, rushing to hospital and getting shot up with their std cocktail should do the trick though. e.g. Even their own staff occasionally gets potentially infected...they just shoot them full of all ARVs know to mankind and book them off for a month. Between you & me I don't think you and me get the same treatment though....they seem to be apply a "we need this oke in the operation room...he's not dying from fckin aids" mentality....so they don't exactly stick to first line drugs (thats me speculating though).

I just have a bag that I carry my stuff in, if I am to switch between cars I can do it quickly.

First aid kit, tow rope, reflective triangle, jump leads, fire extinguisher, 5L oil, 5L water, rain jacket and toolbox (spanners, screwdrivers, cable ties, tape, pliers, etc.) I've only needed the rain jacket and first aid kit so far.

Tow rope, Jumper cables, cigarette lighter flashlight, empty 5l bottle, paper funnel, cellphone charger (micro-usb).
But....
My car broke down on me 18:00 tuesday night, in the right-hand lane of the N1 South, just after the turn at 14'th avenue.
So there I was - on the inside emergency lane, problem seemed to be a blocked fuel line, so I needed to remove my petrol filter and check. And someone had borrowed my screwdriver from the boot of my car...
This is what I had to work with.
A FAA approved Swiss Army knife.
I fixed it - suck it Macgruber!
But....
