Box of smokes that isn't touched unless I run out.

Damn SSB where do you store all that stuff? Explain empty bottle plz.

Triangle, bit of water, old spare cloths (drymac & random old pants) & the standard assorted car stuff like jump leads. And much to my surprise (I just checked) a full BMW medical kit from my dads previous BMW :wtf:...so I've got latex gloves & the works...most of it probably solidly expired though.

I got stuck once without a triangle in the fast lane of a GP highway. Never again. Forever thankful to the dude who saved me there (pulled me across the highway to the left side). I seriously had no clue how to proceed. Changing a tyre with 120kmh traffic whizzing past 10cm away was not an option.

By chance I've been thinking about this for a couple of days so this thread is mighty convenient in its timing. Cable-ties in particular are....holy sht why didn't I think of that.

Anybody know where to get a space blanket for a steal?

I also carry a deodrant, painkillers, tissues, mints and some noodles (the add water type). Those are unrelated to car emergencies though - more of a semi-road warrior type deal.
 
LED triangle seems like something I need...

Empty 5l water bottle is for any fuels that might need to be transported for a stranded vehicle. A crate in the boot, I’ll take a pic when home.

afaik most modern vehicles have a one way seal on the fuel tank...so no joy without a long funnel or something.

Shot @ pic. Ever wondered about increased fuel consumption as a result? It does seem to make a diff long term...eg I recall a top gear where they calculated the cost of driving with a mustache (couple of bucks).

Someone here mentioned a while ago carrying printed copies of stories about people getting mugged by fake police in case he/she needs to justify driving to a petrol station before stopping.

This is true but the "seal" is a metal flap so fuel still gets into the tank through the sides..... or you can push the flap in with a pen

Never had issues with it. Why would you can the tyre?
 
i carry my complete toolbag for work in the back: screwdrivers, spanners, hammer and so on, so if i break down, whoever stops to help will most likely have everything he (or she) needs to help get me going again.

my i20 came with a tiny first aid kit, but something leaked and things rusted. if i use anything now, i'd need a tetanus shot.

i also carry an awesome rain jacket, a 1m walking stick (from a garden hoe), i had one cable tie but gave it away, a +-40cm wooden curtain railing next to the driver's seat, a handheld gps for geocaching but could be used for non-geocaching activities like not getting lost, a few brown coins, an empty 5L oil container for petrol, orange scented heavy duty handwash soap and a bottle of soapy water for the window squirty thingie.

Maybe were talking different stuff here. The ones I used was a Co2 can with some kind of sealing glue. It ended up not sealing the gap properly but the glue stuff fcked up the tyre. BMW ended up telling us...tyre is punctured & now full of some random glue crap that will ruin the balance at high speed...can it.

Speaking of a rain coat. I saw on tv (I think it was himym), they had a rain coat that was folded to the size of a dice (like 2cm cube).

I thought that was pretty cool. Obviously it was disposable and made of super thin plastic but then again a thin plastic should be waterproof. I tried googling it but only came across a yahoo question asking if it was real.

I wouldnt mind a few of those

Nah, I will stick with it thank you very much. It's not glue and last time I checked I could wash it off with water.

It's quite easy to check if the balance is off, the tyre place can do that for you.
