Your Second Income!

I'd be interested to know how it works out for you, please keep us posted. I honestly believe that if you go into food as a side business, you need to understand food very well to begin with. I know someone who opened a pizzeria that ultimately failed, and he'll say it was because he doesn't cook himself. From what I recall, you're already a pretty good cook.

I thought of doing something similar but with donuts. From what I can see there isn't another donut seller in South Africa till Krispy Kreme or Dunkin hits. Even then there's space for a higher end artisanal type of donut, or a Tim Hortons style thing.
He's been around the block already

Oh...huh????? That was in 2014. Did it go out of business or something? That's a nice looking menu there.

No I'm still at it. Been selling to friends and family but hit a wall financially and couldn't proceed. I'm back on my feet now and investigating markets.

Why, was it the cost of equipment that was prohibitive?

If you in the west rand of Jhb there is a lady in Featherbrooke estate that does embroidery dirt cheap. She has all the proper machinery so she can convert your logos etc to be embroidered.

I have been thinking about the same thing lately. How to make an extra income? Most of my weekends are spent in bed or cleaning the house. but surely I can use that time to make some sort of an extra income, it doesn't have to be a lot. Last year I had 2 people that i was car pooling with, that alone gave me R800 a week, without going out of my way. that R800 disappeared this year when one of them bought a car and the other moved.

Well, I have so many ideas, but all need $$$

So what I have done firstly, is convert my garage into a flat.
That now is currently bringing in cash so soon I can look at doing something else (seeing as $$$ is coming in)

some ideas:
Wife - party/wedding planner
me - WISP (house on top of hill and quite a good coverage area)
me - sell biltong
me - buy & sell old furniture etc (but need a bakkie - so wil need sell my car first and get one)
