Your temu orders

Yeah, not sure how SARs will do it with Temu as there isn't any ID to track
Yup, it looks like Temu are declaring the goods on their own importers code. Something like that. It doesn't add up. No wonder Superballist and other local companies are fuming

Same ;), I prefer in-store shopping, where I can physically view the product, and I believe in quality "buy once, cry once" kinda thing.

But seriously isn't this like wish.com V2.0
There's nothing unique about the products on Temu/eBay/Shein/Amazon etc, it’s all just Chinese sellers with the same unbranded goods, same thing different marketplace.
The high quality "macro" photography is one of the tricks. Much of it seems to be just CG. I guess this international freight business is all about minimising weight so they want to mostly sell Christmas cracker fillers.

My favourite so far:

To be fair they do specify the length and width in the description, you just have to know to always look to check exactly what it is you are ordering.

True you must check the description/pics same goes for banggood, wish, aliexpress. Some just do not check then afterwards they want to complain like some neighbors here they just saw the things and bought it without even checking :X3:

None off the stuff everyone here at home ordered was the wrong size or the wrong item/s. So far the clothes I bought for the kid is still perfect after all the washes and warzone days at aftercare . Ordering some car/garage tools for myself next.

So I got an update that they missed a delivery and sending the package back. But I have a doorbell camera and no one tried to deliver anything. Think these local couriers taking a chance if it's too far. Does anyone have a Temu or Buffalo contact? Tried on their website and no response

I think for me possibly they did not complete the run, and returned to the office without even attempting delivery. This last mile carrier is about 70m away, right next door. It is out for delivery today. Lets see.

Remember you are only allowed to order 3 times a year max up to R20k in total.
After that, you need an importers code.
SARS came after me about this in 2020 so I stopped ordering from overseas.

Good to know.

How would they track my ID on the system? My ID isn't anywhere there

Pretty sure I gave my ID to Buffalo at some point. :crying:

I feel pretty dirty, basically got phished on purpose visiting URL-shortened links to fake-looking payment gateways full of bad punctuation.

That's being generous. Don't get me wrong I like them but some of these product photos are taking the p*ss.

Some of them just aren't photos of the actual product... despite obviously purporting to be.

Variations on the theme:
- Photo of 2x of a thing but price under photo is for 1x. Arguably just clickbait. Arguably also illegal.
- Photo prominently includes a thing that isn't included. e.g. the tool but price is for just the consumable. No sign of "X not included" anywhere, you have to work it out by deduction.

Even though I spend 2 hours studying each listing it's a matter of time before I get caught by one of these tricks. It just burns goodwill though so nobody wins in the long run.

LOL - I hear you but who are you going to sue if it is illegal? Temu/China can buy some countries if they want.

The camera's are decent, indoors at night with the light on, and outdoors daytime. The R160 camera does not work well in the dark, the R200 is good. The frame rate was smooth and clearer than my current FHD.

The Yi IOT software leaves much to be desired. Downloaded from playstore and not the app website. App is pushing cloud storage. Upon installation Yi IOT app and setting up the camera it comes to a screen asking for payment options that you cannot make go away. Exiting the app helped on both occasions.

App needed location as well for setup. And storage permissions - access to photos, media and files - and would not run if you disabled. Tip for location - perhaps take the device away from home, setup your pocket router (or phone as an hotspot) with the same credentials as the home, and then setup the device - this way China does not know the location you are using the device.

I think for the camera's I will have to out them on a vlan. No ethernet option. At R160 & R200 worthwhile and I may get more, but I do feel insecure having it on my phone. Not sure if they are onvif compliant. Would like to see if I can get a rstp stream out of them. Ideally block their internet access in total but allow a local stream that I can setup to access externally securely.

Clothing items - variable, material really thin.

cheap stuff, Thermometer/Hydrometer, USB3 Hub, Car Mp3 player.

Are the cameras made by Yi?
They make decent stuff, can you post a link to the R200 camera please?
