Your temu orders

Does anyone know if one imports something electronic that they will build with other components into a finished product in South Africa and then export it - do you still have to pay VAT/customs on the electronic item import?

Unless it's vast volumes and South Africa has some bi-lateral trade agreement or similar with the countries you import/export with you pay full duties and vat when importing. There are some duty free trade/manufacturing zones but that's next level stuff, you'd have to be a massive company to take advantage of those systems.

Yup, it looks like Temu are declaring the goods on their own importers code. Something like that. It doesn't add up. No wonder Superballist and other local companies are fuming

I tried to find a place to enter my code but couldn't. They did ask for my Id though on the first order.

You can also get the code through efiling, there is a post on Mybroadband somewhere on how to do it.

Are the cameras made by Yi?
They make decent stuff, can you post a link to the R200 camera please?

Not the same store but identical https://www.temu.com/za/1080p-hd-wi...n-more-without-sd-card-g-601099527563319.html

They seem to sell out and discontinue and another seller (perhaps even the same) has a similar page up with the item. For some items I can still go back but for others the page is no longer available. Boxes labelled Model Q6 Manufacturer Shenzhen Jianida Electronics and TC20 Manufacturer Shenzhen Ningyuanda Technology. Probably similar items sold in the China shops locally at a bigger markup.

Still to test wifi range.

I think it’s all just a marketing tactic to pressure you into checking out ASAP. This item is nearly sold out! Hurry hurry hurry! Then they just put it up again as a different listing.

yeah, I leave items in the cart for days and it is still same message. I have never seen a message like 'The item you added is no longer in stock' LOL - there must be some gullible people who fall for it though.

My Wife and I went a bit nuts I think, but still spent less than we do filling a shopping trolley, or Vase at the decor shop. R3100 incl Taxes

Got lots of things we were never able to find locally. And we got a few novelty gifts for family. I mean, who would not be thrilled to get a back scratcher for Christmas or their birthday?

I don't need to know you this intimately.

Just got my order. The delivery guy got 200+ parcels. Shein and Temu orders only.

Tax was R62.50

Order date: 16 March 2024
Delivered to my door: 28 March 2024
8 days. That is fast.
I ordered on 20th and my order seem to just arrived at airport after 8 days so probably another 5+ days which will make my order take 13 days so times do vary. My first order last month took 10 days to get to my door.

Your wife has an obsession with tight fitting clothing.

Be careful with buying clothing off Temu. They also use fake pictures of the product.

Remember you are only allowed to order 3 times a year max up to R20k in total.
After that, you need an importers code.
SARS came after me about this in 2020 so I stopped ordering from overseas.
Isn’t this a South African registered shop? So same as buying from takealot or one day only? The good come from the same place…
