Your temu orders

Wow, a bona fide sharing of my experience elicited varying (some rude) responses and prompted an investigation it seems. I merely shared my experience so others can benefit from the information. Over and out on this thread!

Leave a one star review and they will ask you if want to return it. Or just hit the return button. They’ll probably refund the money and tell you to keep the sleeves.
Yep. I ordered a kids bag which was offered in 3 sizes. They sent me the wrong size bag. Their support is fast and helpful. They offered me a refund (credit) to repurchase the bag and said I could keep the other bag. The bag at the time sold for R245

How is this possible?

I just have to pay R93 customs on an order with goods value that is R255. 36% customs in total

Either the value that Temu declared for a discount item I got must have been way higher or an item had 50% customs.

Are their items that do get 50% custom duties?

Pity Buffalo don't put it in their calculations the value of goods, nor each item's custom value. How do you get refund if they made a mistake?

i paid R235 customs on a R1919 parcel for some reason, i was preparing for the worst!

Then applied for a credit due to price changes and got R92 back ( store credit not cash back)

Customs are calculated differently depending on what you bought. Some items attract very little custom and some, especially where the local industry is being protected, get charge very high tarrifs.

You clicked the link? It clearly states it is a 3-pair item. I did ask for a refund, but the bottom line is all the effort and trouble, waiting time etc. just to get the wrong item puts me off.
You spent R39 on an item that was delivered to your door but was falsely titled as 3. You will get a refund. It was free delivery so what is the big deal?

You broke 3 rules
- don't buy clothing from Chinese shops.
- You bought a clothing with one size only. That logic says that Eben Etzebeth has the same arm size as a a Chinese mode? Zero chance.
- Don't buy an item that has few reviews and in your case, never been reviewed.

Other tips
- Search for the same item title. You will most often find multiple listings for the same item. This allows you to select the cheapest option
- Look at the dimensions of items and use those listed dimension with a tape measure at home so you can get an idea what the size is. Photos used are often misleading
- Calculate the custom duties for the type of item. Certain items like clothing has very high custom duties so don't buy it
- Read reviews and try find ones with photos to see the read indication
- Ask for refund if it is falsely advertised. Deliver is free and refund goes back to your credit card, even a virtual one.
- look at top sellers in each category or sort by top sellers. Then you know the supply of that item is streamlined. if something has less that 100 reviews I am sceptical.
- not all items are cheap. Larger or heavy items like large suitcases or bedding can be expensive due to having to be loaded on a plane.
- you can often search for the same item on Amazon and find it, or do an image search because the title is too generic. You will find it on other sites like Amazon where reviews are way better quality

Ordered a Dashcam and one of those common drones they advertising everywhere, R588 total.
Paid import taxes of R122, customs cleared within 20min after payment.

Quite surprised how fast they are moving. Expected delivery is 17 - 25 April.

Skynet is okay, regional areas are a bit of a issue but main areas are okay, we use them at work for the dispatch dept, 100s of overnight parcels a day probably, cant speak for them as a 3rd party tho
