Your temu orders

When you wnt to buy of Temu and get all these rediculous spins where you "win" these random products, worth it to full your cart or is it just a gimmick and you should just buy the stuff you want and ignore the bonus / rewards ? Seems like you can't search for your actual products when you are in the claim your free gift sections

Gimmicks mostly. Just leave the promotion and carry on with your life.

Don't automatically ignore creditback though. Took a few iterations with it before I trusted it and now kicking myself for not ordering the big value item that I desired but did not need. When you make it work for you it is so sweet.

Would you mind teaching us your ways? Save us from having to kick ourselves too

The only promotions like that which are worth it are the spin and then order 3 or 4 items to get discount vouchers.
Those are basically 30% off vouchers with no hoop jumping other than the initial order.

I’d also love to hear how these work, I've been burnt trying their bs like farming and order to get free items that lead you into a never ending trap.

It is nothing complicated, just nuanced and also need to remind yourself since you get the value as credit to spend in future to be grateful and not hold out for something better. I have a disjointed answer since it is Monday am at work.

No-ways was I willing to drop R3700 min spend (100% back) for an item and trust that they will allow me to claim the value back over the 7 days.

The promo varies and may also give say 70% back over R1200-R2000 value*. Getting R840 back on R1200 is worth it. At the time I did not trust the promo and now kicking myself because 70% back is still so good. Also note that the prices for items that you can checkout in the promo may be higher priced than the item in regular cart - but you are getting a good chunk back so it should not matter as much!

This promo changes, last year it was 30% credit back for say 60% of the times, 40% credit back for 35% of the times and finally 5% some purchases getting 90% credit back. So you only knew after checkout how much you would get to claim back.

I must admit that there were times I forgot to claim and lost out.

*Btw it is a bit nuanced in that they may give 10% credit on first R200 spent, then say 70% on up to R2000 on the balance over the first R200. So for R1200 spent you get 10% on the R200 and then say 70% back on R1000 = R700+R10. This is not 70% on R1200. If it was 100% back was of R2000 then it would be another R800 in addition to the R710. R1510 credit in total, which is how the person in the 3rd link feels deceived. They also give another % back over the R2000 to a limit, so if it was 860% when you spent R2100, the R100 gets R860. So spend R2100 and R2370 gets claimable as credit!

As mentioned I did not trust the promo and also I missed out when I was holding out looking for maximum return, when I would have been perfectly happy getting 70% back.

Two pack soft universal magazine pouches.

The Glock 19 round magazine are slightly too long for it, but could still work. The G43X single stack magazine (10 round) magazine fit perfectly.
The pouch has a thin layer of foam padding for comfort, the stitching and overall quality is good, these are for inside waistband carry (IWB).

Magnetic magazine clip.

The clip is made out of metal and well constructed, it works on both magazine for the intended purpose.

8 shell shotgun caddy.

The shotgun caddy is basically a imitation or copy of other older shotgun caddies. Made out of metal, well constructed, the only issue could be the belt attachment, but it is very well made (copied) from proven designs.

GoPro hat with bracket.

The GoPro hat is a cheap hat nothing fancy, but large enough to fit comfortably and the bracket is firmly secured on the front side. Obviously you'll need your own bracket for the GoPro camera/ device to have this attached to the hat bracket.

The up to 90% off one is good, it’s not a spin. You can pick on item in your cart or elsewhere and get a decent discount, usually saves me R100 to R200.
Then I usually go to customer support and query the delivery status. If it’s taking long I get a 20% off voucher for orders up to R500 as an apology.

This one is R518 in my cart, so got a decent discount.

Sigh bought some thermal pads for my ssds, but guess I'll keep them for when the ones on my motherboard plate go kak :-).
Also got some heat sinks for the vrms but will actually see if it is worth putting them on.

Is it worth ordering a digital tape measure from Temu or should I just get the Bosch/ Ryobi locally?

I haven't had the best experience with electronics on Temu, especially measuring tools.
For a laser measure I’d stick with a Bosch, at least you can trust it’s pretty accurate.

Does it at least come with a flysheet?
No ground cover.

I couldn't find anything like this locally, only reason I bought it. Just want something basic to chill in / maybe use as a kitchen when camping etc. and don't feel like spending loads on these proper gazebo setups.

Check this out on takealot: 3x3m Gazebo Tent Waterproof with Removable Sidewalls UV Protection Tent
Check this out on takealot: Outdoor Sun Protection Folding Tent
For a bit more and "local" so easier to return.
As how much would tax up the temu one?

Benefit of the temu is it zips up completely so can chill at night and keep mozzies out. But ja those takealot one's look pretty nice as well.

Those do say don't leave them up to long. So you'd probably need to zip them up as well.
