YouTube cracks down on ad blockers

YouTube has been fighting the use of adblockers on its platform for some time; the company is now forcing users' hands by blocking videos unless their adblocker is disabled for YouTube.

Those still using an adblocker will get a pop-up warning them to disable it, saying, "Video playback is blocked unless YouTube is allowlisted or the ad blocker is disabled".

I am using adblock plus and i get that message but when i installed another addon called youtube enchancer the message goes a way it enchances youtube but it secertylu also blocks adds highly recommend you try it.

You sound like someone who would have gone house to house in the bad old days of broadcast television, unmuted people's televisions, then forced them to watch all the adverts. Clearly all this advert avoidance is a gateway to stealing billions of taxpayer money.

Yeah well i dont have headphones and usually i cant hear becuase it is very noisy where i sit. But you could also block ads on your home network/router to prevent them from being played, i obviously went with the easier decision

Without watching the video, I agree. Utterly **** shorts. I NEVER watch it. I wish they'd get rid of it. Sometimes I get a notification that a channel has uploaded new content, and I go look, and boom. A fkn short.

It's a cancer, just like the Tiktok generation. Sadly YouTubers have to do shorts in order to up their revenue.

By using youtube enchancer addon you can hide all yt shorts, related videos , comments and chat

I pay for the 5 or 6 people family plan and it's 119 a month

Worth it just to listen to music and let the kids watch stuff with no ads

Same with IG. Photos don't trend much any more, but reels do. Fkcen incomplete clips with no context or explanation and the most annoying sound tracks.
