If everything was so blazing fast, why is my FTP throttled to 20kb/s? If anything, it should show some major inconsistency in speed IF it were an exchange problem (congestion)
The only consistent thing about this connection is that it's SLOW, I'm lucky IF I could get 2mb/s out of this thing. And I'm not a n00b. Check my post count, I did that over 5+ years (unlike some post-happy people frequenting these forums). I *check* with different ADSL accounts *before* bitching about something because I'm aware of the variables between myself and the ISP and how what can be influenced.
So unless Telkom is doing port specific shaping at the DSLAM level for specifically MWEB connections, I *seriously* doubt that there is an issue with the exchange. You should also note that MWEB has POP's in JHB, DBN & CPT. So if you're from (IDK, ****ing JHB) and you don't have the problem *then pat yourself on the back because you're a ****ing moron*. I'm in Cape Town. Connecting to the Cape Town MWEB POP.
