Youtube has a huge problem when it comes to censorship and incorrectly shutting down channels or videos. Its not indicative to one side of the political spectrum or even necessarily politically based however. Right wing blokes trying to make out that this is some sort of crusade against them is just another example of the extreme faux outrage dominating the right at this point in time.

You will need to find some evidence to back that up. There is an overwhelming amount of evidence for Youtube censoring right wing viewpoints, but leaving those points Halaal to the left intact.

You're shifting the goalposts. This new solution is not going to take down any videos, it's simply going to isolate them, even if the video itself doesn't violate youtube's ToS.

Do you really think the three groups that have been recruited to make this thing happen are going to be impartial with respect to what they censor? If not, which side of the political divide is going to get hit hardest?

Same thing happened with Peterson. His channel went down for a little while and before actually finding out what happened he was whining and crying to everyone he could.

No goalposts have been shifted, my examples clearly show a trend with youtube of poorly implementing censorship policies. Btw my first link goes into exactly what you speak of, if you actually bothered to read it.

Instead of whining about what might potentially happen, why not complain when it does happen. History shows us Youtube has been poor implementing this stuff which doesn't rely on any political bias. Its quite easy to attribute the recent issues to that alone.

Until proven otherwise, this is just your standard faux outrage, apologies for breaking up the circle jerk.

Putting something in restricted mode because of age inappropriate content is now the same thing as removing the ability to comment on a video, like or dislike a video, or have that video appear anywhere else on youtube?

Maybe you should wait to find out what happened before passing judgement. Then you'd know that Peterson actually got a response which told him he wasn't getting his account back, and didn't tell him why it was removed in the first place.

And again, why didn't they tell him specifically which video he was banned for? Surely a company as rich and as powerful as Google could at least give a link to the offending piece of work (which there are absolutely none).
