What parallel? Clearly you see something I dont.
Illegal occupation and use of force. Maybe you lived as a privileged person back in the day but the struggle was very real for many of us.

Why do you think Palestinians resort to terrorism now? Isreal are hardly blameless in this scenario with their Illegal settlements. Given that and their support of Isreal by the US, what other options do they have?
marine, you honestly think kicking a kid is justified? Or killing civilians to find the kidnapped teenagers?
That's like someone kicking down your door and shooting you because someone remotely geographically close to you possibly kidnapped someone.
Why not?
And before the illegal settlements into occupied territories who attacked who?
Because you are equating ANC to Palestine, fighting apartheid ( Israel ) to regain their land which was unjustly taken away from them.
Where did the Jews live prior to the Roman & later Arab occupation of Palestine?
Lee Bennie as well. And in the Cape, Lisa Chiat. Remarkable coincidence. Lisa I can live without, but Lee Bennie was a pro!Has anybody noticed that 702 has become rather "Jewless" since Abramjee started running things there?
Ronald Bobroff, Harry Seftel, Dr Platzhund - all gone. (I'm not sure about Platzhund though - he seems to be back.)
I'm not saying there's an organised purge of Jews. Platzhund for example originally left because Saturday mornings are his busiest time of practice as a vet and 702 wanted to move his Saturday afternoon show to Saturday mornings. Bobroff and Seftel left due to the dumbing down of the station - also under Abramjee's watch. They no longer offer their "A word on..." shows. Instead we have "Sports Talk" to look forward to every night. Whoop-dee-doo.
But I'm not aware of a single Jewish presenter on 702 (except possibly for Platzhund), where there once were many.
And then there's the anomaly of a "talk" station turning into a "music" station on weekends.
How I miss the evening shows of Jon Qwelane, the early morning shows of Ian Crewe, and the midday shows of Chris Gibbons.
As far as I know the Palestinians as a country didn't attack anyone?
Well the Gazans are pretty much all Egyptian by descent. Are you inferring that because Jews lived in Palestine 2000 years ago they had the right to evict anyone who settled there in the mean time?
Are you on drugs?
When the Palestinians were given control of Gaza, they bombarded southern Israel with thousands of rockets. That's a direct attack 'as a country' (there is no country called Palestine).
And before the illegal settlements into occupied territories who attacked who?
Nope, it was an attack by terrorist elements living in the occupied territories. There was a territory called Palestine before the 1948 Arab/Isreali war. Gaza is not and has never been a Palestinian state, it is an occupied territory.
The illegal settlements are a logical progression from a decision made in Basle in 1897 that the native inhabitants of Palestine should be dispossessed and expelled to make way for the establishment of a Jewish homeland. All that is happening now is the steady enlargement of what was seized in 1948.
Yes. There was a state called Palestine in 1948. There was also supposed to be one post 1948. But the Arabs didn't accept the deal (nor have they since). Instead, Palestine got nicely sliced up between Egypt, Syria and Jordan. They had 20 years to establish a Palestinian state (in the so called pre-1967 borders) and guess what? It didn't happen. Instead they chose to keep attacking Israel.
Gaza is a self governed entity. There are no Israelis (read Jews) in Gaza. So by whom exactly is it occupied, if not Palestinians?
I suppose the first and second intifadas were also "terrorist elements living in the occupied territories"?
I suppose the hundreds of thousands of residents that line the streets of Palestinian cities to celebrate their terrorists and events (including 9/11) are also just "terrorist elements living in the occupied territories"?
I see you're a little confused.
In 1948 Egypt seized the Sinai, Jordan seized the East Bank and East Jerusalem, and Syria seized the Golan Heights. Those were the only 'seizures'.
And Jordan, est 1946 in the bulk of what was then the Palestine mandate, you don't appear to mind Jordan taking over the bulk of the Palestine mandate, why is that?David Ben-Gurion's declaration of the State of Israel on 14 May 1948 was the culmination of half a century of aggression against the natives and the seizure of their homeland.

Except this video is 2 years old and has no relevance to the kidnapping of the Israeli teens.
