ZA and ZG

Reading this makes me wanna start playing WOW again...have to resist the urge....have to...

ZA,ZG was actually quite a bit of fun.

Many people will tell you this 4.1 patch was a huge fail, but I think its a huge success. Many people who could never finish these as 10man raids could finish them now in 5man. In fact I believe more people could now see and experience these vs back in the days. Personally I have seen and done the original ones, but I still enjoyed them. Yes there are people who fail miserably in the new ones, but most of them can be taught how to finish it, sadly most people just don't care. Should tell you something about humans...

I thorougly enjoyed the ZA instance... pretty tough in a pug. Got nostalgic from just hearing the bosses :p I just wish the groups would pay attention to the totems!

ZG was a walk in the park in comparison

I find ZA a walk in the park and ZG a bit tricky :p

Both are a lot of fun though :)

I've run both once, ZA was definitely at a more cautious pace. I found my dps slightly lower than normal too...only doing 12k on trash and 15-16k on bosses

I've done ZG twice and ZA once and we wiped a lot more in ZG.

I do like both instances though. Blizz did a good job with them :)

It was fun the 1st time. Just kinda annoys me that Blizzard puts more work into trash than actual bosses these days...

Makes me think about Firelands. 7? Bosses is not allot, and they already spoke about the trash. 1 hour of trash, 10 min boss fight, 1 hour trash, 10 min boss fight... kill me now pls :p

To me the game lately says they where sitting here and thinking, "How time consuming, annoying can we make this trash/fight" instead of FUN

I can't explain it as well as Totalbiscuit can :p

tl;dr of the podcast = Firelands looks like Ulduar 2.0, various ways of defeating bosses, story driven fights, huge leap forward in the lore

I been using ZA/ZG to gear up all my alts.

Been quite fun :)

Must admit healing it is way harder than any other HC . One can understand as the epic loot requires the effort equal to the loot. What beats me is this new LFG reward for the tanks and healers when the queues are to long. Any mid geared dps decides to roll off tank with crappy gear and think he can go and tank the bosses...... it might work in other instances but there it is EPIC fail.
Tried the timed ZA but missed it closely, the right group is essential.
All in all brings back great memories and I am sure new ones

Never liked ZA. I enjoyed ZG in the vanilla days. It's a bit disappointing as 5 man when you have memory of the raids. I queued for1. Got ZG. It was more by accident. I logged and just selected the heroic daily without even realising that these 2 where now the default option. Got dc'd during the first boss. Logged back almost immediately and found myself kicked. Haven't bothered since then.

Levelling a Mage. Never played one before, so it's good fun, while I wait for a patch more to my liking:)

Ran more of these last night, ZG was smooth until tank pulled too many panthers on 3rd last boss and ZA (read dragonhawk boss) seems impossible with idiot dps who have no awareness of aoe/standing in the fire

I haven't done dungeons for some time now, due to the tanks and healers leaving instances after every wipe (which peeves me off so much).

I've done ZA and ZG twice each now and you still get the tanks and healers leave...kinda makes me want to quit WoW and play a single player game where I don't have to sukkel with stupid people =/

People have gotten weak. WotLK spoiled everyone with easy dungeons.

Would you believe me if I said we went through 4 tanks last night in ZG (1 wipe), and 8 (15 wipes). A guildie was healing and we were determined to finish both, we only managed 3x ZA bosses though

People have gotten weak.

I noticed that with tanks no using CC -> More pressure on the healer -> Higher chance of wiping

I am enjoying the difficulty of ZA and ZG, weeds out the slackers/noobs very quickly

CC what's CC, i have the feeling that was a dying art. You almost have to beg the others to CC.
The funny part is the tank always says. "Dont worry about CC I can tank them all" .... They die for 2 groups and then they leave ... cause its the healers fault.

Everyone raving about CC back in cataclysm, as I started playing WOW with Lichking expansion, I never learned to use CC. So I read up about CC and starting to experiment with my CC spells, just to get into Herioc instance now and the tanks dont bother with CC, and blame the healer when they die.

Ugh.

I ask for CC when I know its needed, some packs have it as a requirement, most don't, and those are the ones I ignore CC on and test the healer's skill (don't worry I assist with wise use of tanking cooldowns to assist).

Sometimes you need to skip CC to test the group as well, I like it when players think for themselves and CC even when I don't ask. Its tiresome to tell everyone the whole time how to play the game. Trust me, you get a few groups where people are smart enough to know that they should CC without the Tank asking, I for one appreciate those, and when I see someone CC, I go out of my way to move away from that mob and then throw down my AoE stuff.

Nowadays I don't see CC as a problem, more that people don't know how to control the game, as in, pull aggro the whole time, don't think for themselves, expect people to tell them what to do ect.
