How does the lockout work for these dungeons?

Started ZG last night and killed everything up until the panther adds boss. The healer and tank then declared to the group they are off to dinner and we'll just have to wait. One DPS DC'ed so we couldn't vote kick, so after wait about 10min I dropped group. When I requed I got ZG again, but it was a wipefest at the poison boss (1st). So I excused myself and did something else.

When I qued up again later I got into a group that was at the last boss in ZG. Killed it and got my valor points.

I was under the impression that once you've killed a boss in a Heroic you are saved to that instance for 24 hours.

You must have queued for "random zand hc" since you got Valor points

If you manually choose heroics you can only do them once

Im finding those dungeons quite hard, its better with the 15% pug bonus but still hard. I have an ilvl 355 resto druid and if I get a crappy tank then its a spamfest keeping them alive.
People are stupid though and dont actually avoid things properly or use their cooldowns effectively.
The soothe effect is quite handy for pulling enrage effects off things but yeah they still hard.
When they first came out I ran them with some of our raid group after taking out halfus and v&t and we spent 2 hours getting past the first 2 bosses in ZG
That poison fight is a bastard if people cant use their brains.

you can only get VP 7 times a week from queueing in LFD. doesnt matter anymore whether you queue once a day, or 7times right after each other to do it. great idea for those of us that dont have the time every day for a dungeon run. mind, to actually be bothered to do the run in the 1st place...
