No it's not. I think there was a special on where you could get it as download for half the price. Also remember that in most cases you need PS+. As far as I understand the season pass gives you all the DLC for free - so initially I forked out close to 1,2K (deluxe edition with season pass based on all the hype).

Once you bring your toon up to level 30, the game turns into a grind in an attempt to upgrade your weapons to exotics. I do think that PvP and the strikes on heroic difficulty are great and challenging but in most cases people "cheese" through those (I am guilty of this too - especially in heroic nightfall strike where the whole party gets booted out of the game if everyone dies). But even in those more difficult strikes if you run with an experienced group of people, it is repetitive as enemies always spawn from the same spots.

The story is great, but very short. The daily bounties are repetitive (although with new DLC new bounties arrive). The gameplay (cheesing and repetitiveness aside) is initially great and I play it to just kick back and not having to think too much. I do dislike the limitations of exotics (i.e. you can only equip one exotic weapon and one exotic piece of armor at a time) and Bungie's way of upgrading exotics is painful - i.e. you need to grind through missions/strikes to get "strange coins" and then upgrade your exotic which will then reset all it's stats to force you to level up your weapon all over again. The inventory management is also limited (i.e. they cap the virtual currency to a very low amount).

The multi-player is great (especially if you have the DLC packs). Bungie has an active community on the forum and I have never struggled to put a raid team together. The auto-matchmaking on PvP is okay, but I do find that at least people on my PSN network (perhaps poor choice of friends) focus more on raids and grinding rather than diversity (i.e. they would not do certain bounties, because it is a low-level bounty).

I found that I have more luck after joining The100 (https://www.the100.io/community), PS4 Reddit and WOTV. All good players and never had an issue running Crota Hard or Vog Hard. All of this has become now more an issue since PoE / weekly strike has no matchmaking.

It was a nice surprise to jam with you in IB last night I personally hate Pantheon! How were you finding the lag?

I pretty much despise all you Thorn xmas-newbs - such a PITA when you get downed with two shots. I did IB to finally finish my Thorn bounty and it was super-painful to compete with my void-weapons against you Thorn players. I maxed out Atheon's Epilogue and Truth and a few times I really had to laugh at the Thorn players as I must be the only Destiny player playing with a nerfed auto-rifle.

Playing on my Titan with Helm of Saints and the Starless Night perk really rocked it. I managed to get to IB Lvl5 last night and got the 500 pts for the PVP Thorn bounty. I think I am actually going to stick with the maxxed out Epilogue/Thorn and Starless Night - it really bites:

Hahaha, but I'm not one of the x-mas scrubs I started this thread in the first place! I was really only running Thorn because everyone hates it so much and that 10 kill streak bounty is so much easier when you can "tag" everyone.

Swordbreaker! 80% of my kills came from that beautiful shotty when I was grinding out my Thorn, the other 20% was thanks to a Void LDR. You had it easy, Hunters don't have a Void subclass yet

If it makes you feel any better, I've been killed by the starting weapon (Khvostov 7G-02) a couple times in this IB

Agreed! Blinding bubbles wreck in PVP, I only ran Striker on my titan during this IB...Grats on hitting IB 5, I started a little late on the weekend but managed to get to R3 at least. Sitting with 2x 34s now

If it was not for two days without electricity, I could have gotten my Warlock also to IB5. I thought that once I hit IB5, I could buy more etheric lights - so that was a disappointment when I realised I could only get two. FWIW - I am probably the only Destiny player left who does not have a Gally yet (and I am sick and tired of getting Hawkmoons - RNGJesus is really loving me).

Without a Thorn it's pretty pointless running PoE though - I get wrecked so badly :-(

I was under the impression it was 2 etheric at rank 3 and 2 more at rank 5 If I can ever receive a Fatebringer or Black Hammer I'd have something worth spending etheric light on, until then I'm wasting them on my int/disc disc/str gear for each class

Trust me, you aren't...A clan mate is in the exact same spot, endless Last Word drops. To matters worse, this clan mate has been in my fireteam EVERY time I've picked another one up. Gally guilt is real!

I'll lend you my 10th Ghally. As for PoE, you don't need a Thorn at all :erm:. Do the Lvl 28 one, you'll see what I mean. Unless you meant ToO then yep, stay outta there.
