Zille sees error in her ways.

The DA was what the people voted for, and they deployed Zille into the Premiership.

Zille was elected to the presidency of the DA by just under 800 people in Midrand back in 2007.

Ah, okay. I follow you. Sort of like Zumatello was voted in by a few people in Polokwane? And whatever other processes were followed for all of the other parties.

You kind of get the view that the process was open to everyone in South Africa then - we all could have joined the DA and had a say but most of us don't really care enough to do so. We wait until the elections and decide if we like a person, or a party or whatever criteria we use.

Fair enough.

Bingo.

EDIT: And, IMO, If we were to apply what happened back then to this representivity debate, Zille was viewed as a compromise between the continuation of white male leadership, and electing a black leader in Seremane. Seremane was whipped, Trollip got a couple hundred votes. I stress that this is my opinion.

Yeah, I knew how this was going to turn out, so why the warning

Cosatu talks with Zille fail - premier won’t budge on all-male cabinet

Zille had, for the first time, reportedly admitted that she had approached Cope’s Thozama Bevu to be in her cabinet.

According to Ehrenreich, Zille also conceded that the ID’s Sarah Paulse would have made a good MEC.

Ehrenreich said that if Zille had not poisoned relations with Cope by attacking Allan Boesak, its Western Cape premier candidate, before the elections, Cope may have allowed Bevu to join Zille’s cabinet.

Meanwhile, Cosatu is set to hold “continuous talks” with Zille in future about the recession.

They bemoaned the fact that they had a “detailed plan” with the previous ANC administration about how to counter job losses and retrenchments and would now have to go back to the drawing board with the new DA administration.

Hahaha "poisoned relations with Cope by attacking Allan Boesak", she simply doesn't want that idiot in government. So there weren't relations to poison that hadn't been that way for years.

Nice that they admit she was completely open to having women in the cabinet. Takes a lot away from the sexist, racist etc rubbish.

Why does Cosatu need to go back to the drawing board if they had a "detailed plan"
Surely if enough thought had gone into the plan it would be portable ... or at worst need a bit of tweaking to suit the new DA council

... oh wait ...

...what was I thinking

..they had a “detailed plan” with the previous ANC administration about how to counter job losses and retrenchments

... worked ovet the last decade or so didn't it ?

Zille said a "narrative" existed in South Africa that quotas took precedence over all other considerations.

"This is not the DA's narrative. It has nothing to with the real oppression of women in South Africa. It has nothing to do with gender equity and the advancement of women. It has to do with women who are owed political favours."

She may have a point!

+1 and fixed :)

The fact that an all male cabinet causes this kind of controversy just shows how ****ed up things are

Yup, and no one gives a s**t about an all Black cabinet in four of the provinces. Had it been an all White cabinet, no matter the number of women, well the ANC would have gone to town.

My Opinion,

Who ever thinks that men and women are viewed as equal in todays world are insane.

Warning! The post below was written with mental capacity of Julius M

If you had two applicants, equally qualified, one female and the other male, who would you choose? Thats for a secretary post....

I know that there are technocrat females on myBB, but their opinions are relatively pointless, when women think of shampoo, blunomore and others would think shampoo , I don't think that the girls here even know what manicure is, they know more about software than they do with ladylike things. That's why they overlooked the fact that the reason why there are no females on the DA's provicial team is because the botox lady does not want competition, she wants all the attention.

Come on guys, even you would agree with me. Set productivity aside(politically speaking), If I had to choose a team of people to work with me, I'd choose all females, hot females that is, even if I were an ugly dude, one of the ladies would be interested in me (in addition to me being the boss). Say I create a team equally represented, males and females, that would mean I have competition and I'll have to make extra effort to nail one of the ladies. If I were homosexual I would surround myself with dicks.

Zille is one horny lady, no one goes for botox injections if they are not after attention...:D

This reminds me of Chris Rock, a dick for a DICtator. A pus.s.y for a P*********

This is such rubbish. If a women isn't into stereotypical female things then their opinion is pointless? Wow that almost sounds sexist to me, how weird.

And making up personal attacks on Zille just proves your bias. In fact, reading over your bull****, the word fact is hilarious. Plus you seem to have been influenced by the ANCYL/MKMVA's stupefying statements about Zille.

EDIT: Er, so you edited your post. Are you re-posting something someone else wrote?
