Yeah which is why the ACTUAL tapes are needed as well. You just can't trust transcripts after they've been in anc hands this long.

I have a question: what happens if the tapes are simply destroyed or 'lost'? Will there be any recourse? Recourse that actually means something?

The tapes are evidence that led to his charges being dropped. No tape, no evidence, being back the charges.
