ZyXel IAD P2602 - half-bridge?

I did try looking on Google for information about that previously - this is all that I could find. Just search the link for half-bridge. It appears this only works for certain Zyxel models and only for PPPoA connections but maybe you could e-mail Zyxel in the Netherlands or at www.zyxel.com to find out more if nobody else can help.

As you know Telkom also supplies a Mega 200VWR router which it would appear might be a Billion router or at least compatible with a Billion model. Somebody on this forum claims to have flashed it successfully with Billion firmware although Billion Support claim that it is not a Billion product. The Billion routers do usually support half-bridge mode. This router also includes Voip features.

Dammit, so it mostlikely doesnt then. :/

I must try get my Mega 100WR2 back now... grrr

Can you not just use one local and one international Bridge mode connection in RasPPPoE and then switch between them when necessary? That Zyxel Voip router sells for around R1500 in the UK! The Mega100WR2 probably costs less than half of that.

So wat ? We wont be using VoIP feature anytime soon.. The Mega100WR2 is still pretty good

I've been using Voip for 2 years - saves me thousands every month in international calls by not using Telkom. It's much more convenient if you can just connect a telephone directly to your router rather than having to switch on a PC every time you need to make a call. Some of the Voip service providers are offering much cheaper SA landline and cell phone calls than Telkom and Voda/MTN so it could save you money already. 30c a minute to Telkom phones is quite common for example. In most countries with competitive telecommunications sectors Voip calls are virtually free.

Hmm, so if I can sell my zyxel router somehow then buy a decent D-link router...that would be the best, but doubt ill be able to as Telkom give them out for free :/

OMG....not even port forwarding works properly on this router....its a piece of you know what!:mad::mad::mad:

To Enable the Bridge mode and PPPoE, go to the advanced settings on the WAN connection. Enable the PPPoE Passthrough - apply
