DStv Select stopped
Yesterday (9 April 2013), MultiChoice sent a notice to DStv Select subscribers to let them know that their bouquet will be replaced by the new DStv Family package.
DStv Select 1 and DStv Select 2 are discontinued effective immediately, the notice said.
The notice quotes MultiChoice South Africa CEO Collins Khumalo as saying that they conducted extensive research with existing Select subscribers before making the decision.
“Following the feedback, we decided to launch DStv Family with a more relevant and appealing channel line-up,” Khumalo said.
Existing DStv Select subscribers may move to other DStv packages and if it doesn’t meet their requirements they can switch back to DStv Select.
“However, should you decide to become inactive and not be a DStv customer for more than 3 months, you will not be able to come back to your DStv Select. You will then only be able to subscribe to the DStv Family package at your current R175 price point,” Khumalo explained.
