DStv Select bouquet canned, replaced by Family package

I knew that was coming when they launched the Family bouquet.
 
What K@RK is this? Is this better or worse? The only reason I'm on Select 2 is for my daughter who likes Nickelodeon and my wife who likes KykNet. Well, I hope KykNet en Kie is filling the KykNet gap. But I doubt my daughter will be satisfied, she likes the Nickelodeon sitcoms. I don't watch telly anyway, so not bothering me.

EDIT: And what is this "Extensive Research" they did? I don't know nothin?????
 
Anyone that subscribed to Select 2 would care. Your only option for KykNET would be to upgrade to premium as the new KykNET channel on some of the other bouquets is K*K. Extensive research my ass.

KykNET & Kie is K@K! Old rubbish on repeat. Even the new series like Binneland is from a year ago.
 
The article states that you can stay on Select if you are an existing subscriber... They'll even let you switch to another package and switch back again if you are not happy...

Ja, I will have to do EXTENSIVE RESEARCH myself and see what the wife and kid says at home. I feel like dumping it all and just have fukkol. I'm not using it anyway.
 
According to their website KykNET is available on the family bouquet, but they canned Nickelodeon :cry: which has been replaced by Cartoon Network and Boomerang.

The rage should be at the principle of the matter. New subscribers have less choice and lack of Nat Geo will force some of them to choose compact. Abuse of monopoly power at work here.
 
I have sent them an EMail to the effect that if they mess with Sky News I'm cancelling. You can now only get Sky on the full package, unless they do keep Select going.

Somehow I suspect that Select will be gone for existing subscribers within the year.

If Select does disappear, Telkom will get my DSTV Select fees for upgrading to 4Mb.
 
So they switch it automatically? The wife is going to have a heart attack with her soapies. Gonna keep my mouth shut about the option to switch back.

So you got Select 1 or 2? Are you one of the "majority" that tipped the scale in favor of DSTV???
 
So they kill off SELECT and put you over to FAMILY, minus a few of the more popular channels offered on SELECT...

This is just another bully tactic to force more people to cough for PREMIUM...

DSTV you suck... yes I know... you can't help it!
