Cell C network problems backlash
Numerous Cell C subscribers have resorted to online complaints about the operators’ network performance and poor customer support.
Many Cell C customers have reported that they have no data service, despite the fact that they have full signal strength.
“I have a perfect GSM signal and voice calls are fine. Data – not so much. I have basically a non-existent data connection in the Hatfield area and in Faerie Glen,” said one Cell C subscriber.
“I have the same problem in Sandton CBD. On HSPA+ but there is no data even though the signal is good,” said another Cell C user.
Cell C customers have also reported frustration with poor customer service levels. “It took me 3 phone calls and an hour to get my Cell C pre-paid SIM deactivated,” said one user.
“So tempted to just cancel my last Cell C contract, pay the penalty fee and finish my move to Vodacom. I’m having endless problems with Cell C’s service,” said another Cell C customer.
Cell C network problem discussions
Many consumers are speculating that Cell C’s network is congested and that the company cannot cope with its subscriber growth.
Cell C was asked about the network problems and whether the company is struggling to cope with its growth, but the operator did not respond by the time of publication.
Cell C update
Cell C has confirmed that there is some localised congestion in specific areas at certain periods.
“However, these are being addressed through continuous upgrade projects,” said Cell C.
