Another jumper off Van Standens Bridge

My cousin is driving back from PE and they passed Van Standens where there are cops and alot of cars have pulled over.

Im assuming another suicide. Sad :(

Haven't heard of a suicide there for years. Hope not.

there are suicides there all the time. at least a few a year. they have tried to make it more difficult by adding 24 hour surveillance, adding nets under the bridge etc. but people are persistent. the current economic situation is not helping, and it will get worse.

suicides in pe i heard are one of the worst in the country. :confused:
 
i had a crush on a girl who used to live in Hankey. 10 years back.
the day I went to visit her, i got lost, asked the first person i saw in town if they knew her, "oh yea sure, down this road, your first right, then the 3rd house on the right" :eek:

small town.

That was the first town where I had to put a coin in the door to a toilet to go pee at a garage :D

Since then I have seen them rock up every where. I found it strange that day, I had to break a note for a R 1.00 coin to put in the lock and twist it to open. Was rather funny. I even took a photo of it, was a shell Garage if I recall correctly. Right on the main road as you enter the town to the left.

That's as old as the hills, hence the phrase "spening a penny"
