Standards for Digital TV broadcasting explained

have a digital receiver it finds 10channels but they don't work, signal not good i guess (where to point the aerial)

I guess South Africa won't be seeing digital TV for at least another 15 years, when DVB-T, DVB-T2, and ISDB-T fall into the same category as 28.8K dialup, and there are new standards in place.

You'd think that for ONCE, just ONCE, by SHEER luck, that the DoC could succeed at SOMETHING. ANYTHING. Even something small. FFS!

someone has financial interests in the ISDB-T tech and wants to get rich!!!

The Brazilian Gov... since when has South America been a source of technological knowhow? Maybe drug production technology leaders, but nothing else!

I got the DVB-T reciever and at home I use the main analog antenna without problems and recieve SABC 1, 2, 3, SABC International, E-TV, and few DSTV test transmissions and at the office I use the small antenna that I got with the tuner

If I run a scan on my TV I get nothing. However I just tried the manual scan option in the menu and am finding some stuff on "Channel 35"

It looks like INT, ESG, SS1, SS3, etc.

Can anyone enlighten me on what this is? I'm in Cape Town.
