Cell C franchisees not happy

Cell C is allegedly holding back on a new franchisee agreement, potentially because it is considering a company owned model.

I wonder if CellC will sort out their store pricing. The differences between Vodacom, Virgin and Cell-C can be enormous for some phone models.

I am glad their specials on data bundles are not available in Gauteng because I wanted it but reading this I rather wait for Vodacom to offer similar packages. The existing 2 contracts I still have with CellC I rather also port to Vodacom as to renew them I already canceled 2 contract I had with CellC

I'm actually waiting to port back to Cell C. MTN's packages are horrible from all.
 
This is what Big corporate do.They bully the small guys around.

And Cell C are shooting them selves in the foot by having all stores as company stores.MTN did this and it failed.

Now MTN is Re-Franchising because after they purchased the stores sales drop.WHY? NOT OWNER RUN and clients don't know who to speak to when there's a problem.

Wake up Cell C.........Trevor this is a JOkE

There is no reason why non-franchise stores can't work. Hell even McD is pushing to get rid of franchisees (world-wide).

Not as bad as in the Vodashops! Shopping around for a prepaid smartphone recently, I consistently found the Vodashops to be more expensive than MTN and CellC almost across the board -- in my own final choice (a Nokia E63) several hundred rand more than both MTN (the cheapest) and CellC! I was told by someone in the industry that this is fairly consistently the case. Beats me then why anyone would pay the Vodashop prices given that prepaid phones (certainly at the high end) are all unlocked so there's nothing to stop you shopping around for the best provider's price, then throwing away their SIM and putting in the one of your choice....

I found Cell-C to be the most expensive by far. We're talking R2000 difference. MTN didn't seem to stock pre-paid AT ALL, maybe they do now. Then Vodacom and Virgin phones were competitive, but also with some odd discrepancies in pricing with differences approaching R1000 for the identical model. What was strange is that Cell-C shops had the cheapest accessories for Noka at least!
