Just checking if anyone else has experienced this - its very weird.

The only person on Cell C that I call is my wife and I always use my Vodacom phone for that. On average its about 2 or 3 calls a day. However at least once, sometimes twice a month I will call her and someone else will answer with an entirely different number, yet when I look at the number I dialed it is always the same (speed dial).

The strange thing comes in when I hang up and redial her because then she received a call from me but was connected to, you guessed it, someone she has never heard of before.

It was funny at first but I don't think its good if the network does that. Anyone else had these problems?

i seem to remember vc doing similar things to me a few years back.
in my instance, i'd be in a call and it would swap to somebody else and sometimes swap back.
my wife would either be disconnected or would end up talking to somebody else as well.
in one instance, i was connected to an existing convo as a 3rd party, tried talking, but they couldn't hear me.
it went on for a few months and then petered out eventually.
this was about 5-6 years back.

Strange - maybe it happens on all networks its just that I mostly call to Cell C. No we never ported, I have been on my number Vodacom since May 1999 and she got her Cell C number in 2004.

I think next time I will ask the person that answers what their number is (provided that they understand English) so that I can try figure out if the routing problem is on my side on Cell C side.
