Cell C MyTools launched in Beta

Can we perhaps have some online data monitoring as well? Having to

1) Remove my SIM from my datacard (USB) - (connected to my 3G router)
2) Put it in a spare phone
3) phone 14302 to get my balance

is soooo last year (if not century) :/

Unfortunately as an Autopage Cellular "customer" I am NOT able to get data balances via SMS, USSD (on the Cell C PC Application) :(

Sounds very exciting indeed. I will certainly use many of these features and like the fact that one can use the web interface for voice messages etc.

apart from the one on the cell c website, is there a video demo of mytools in action?

I like this.

As a member of a gated community, we plan to have a cellphone number for people to contact us on. However, I don't want to have to carry two phones around with me all the time, and I don't really care if I miss calls, so long as I can get back to them later.

It sounds like I could simply sign up with Cell C on a prepaid system, and not even have a phone at all. Use the web interface to collect voice messages, and phone people back using my own phone and so on. Wonder if I can configure it to SMS a different number when VM is left? Interesting.

That then opens up an opportunity for VOIP as well. Connect using a VOIP client when the phone is off, or receive calls on the handset when the handset is on. I wonder if that is where Cell C is going with this? They could do worse than take a leaf from Google's playbook, before Google eats their lunch!

Wow Cell C, I am so impressed. These are pretty advanced features, for any mobile operator in the world. So once again S.A. really does innovate with mobile. Also its showing that the underdog is the one doing the innovation.
This is a promise Cell C, when my contract expires with MTN, I am getting the HELL out of there and supporting Cell C for their truly forward looking agenda.

BRAVO!

This is excellent! Well done Cell C, finally a Telecoms company in SA who are innovating.

Cool Stuff, Any additional fees, if not, then true innovation at its best. So tired of getting shafted for every new thing that comes out.

Hope this roles out soon. Got six contract with Vodascum, can't wait to leave in THREE YEARS TIME...:-( First contract ending May 2011 Hooray.

I really hope Cell C's website for this service is at least as good as the V4me site was: user-friendly, fast and not heavy on bandwidth...

So excited about all the things Cell C are rolling out this year... They've really taken the bull by the horns :D

after signing up on the VIP list, didn't get any email response etc.
any idea when we will be accepted into the trial phase?

Cell C is doing an excellent job. Now if MTN and Vodacom would actually bother to improve........?

Add a spam filter for SMS's and I may just consider switching my voice from Vodacom to Cell C. Tall order, I know.

LOL, what a ****.

The whole point of Google Voice is to *not* be tied to an operator, least of all the one with [currently] the worst service in the country.

Silicone Cape never ceases to amaze me - as a group they appear to not know much about technology at all, and seem to be nothing more then a bunch of marketers disguised as techies. Wolves in sheeps clothing if you like. Your free drinks may get you editorials, but they don't impress those of us who actually know what we are doing.

What do you do?

does cell c offer micro sims yet? i've been waiting to switch to them for months now, but i'm tired of dealing with the useless in-store staff...
