DStv on Demand Online expands with more ADSL ISPs

I use, DSTV Catchup via the PVR only at the moment, since it seems that downloading episodes would be fairly expensive in terms of bandwidth. Am I correct is assuming that usual rates apply when downloading OnDemand content ?

I think its really only targeted at uncapped users

Not that I am changing my ISP to gain access to this "service", but is it actually worth it? Do you get to choose your content or is lamely dictated to the subscriber by MC?

The whole point of the article is about ISP's who are joining DStv on demand to deliver the content for free to DStv Premium subscribers. Ie. You don't pay for traffic if you are with one of the listed ISP's.

Nope you're wrong. You'll still have to pay for the bandwidth costs. Traffic from the DSTV On Demand / Catchup / Whatever service is not zero-rated on these ISP's networks. Previously, this service was only available to subscribers on the MWEB network.

MWEB/DSTV announced previously that they will only make this content available to those ISPs who peer with them directly and for free.

I think this is an announcement that 3 more ISPs have concluded the peering agreements, and thus they now automatically have access to this content.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

... for the best viewing experience, assuming this takes off, I reckon 4Mb unshaped uncapped (Mweb pricing R2,359 incl line per mth) is what you'll actually need.

Anyone tested this on the basic 384 uncapped offering yet?

Went to register but uhm, they want mah Mweb username and password :wtf: Dunno if I trust anyone with that info.
 
I know they're linked but I'm still not giving the incompetents at dstv my Mweb login details ......
 
Atleast you have the option of downloading the content. If streaming's not a viable option.
