MWEB launched free cloud storage service: Store-It (23 June 2011)

Is there a CityBox available?We don't all live in a dorp....:D

I thought a DropBox is where you store your liquorice.

Cool, I use dropbox but only have 5GB, now I will have 10GB. Can it be setup like dropbox i.e. a folder on my hardrive and automatically gets uploaded when I drop something in?

This is nice for the 5 MWEB subscribers still left that haven't jumped ship in the mass hysteria lately.

I'll stick with Drop**** for now though, despite the security flaws. It's auto-sync works quite nicely and theres an Android app as well.

Makes a lot of sense for Mweb - with all of the complains already about international bandwidth and the impending surge in cloud storage they can alleviate some of their load.
Can you use this with local-only data?
Do mweb offer local only access? Will it be readily accessible to mweb customers not using their mweb account?

Yes , article says locally hosted.

That does not necessarily mean you can buy local-only data with Axxess for example, and use this to upload your data to your MWeb storage space.

If they REALLY want to make their customers smile, they should not subtract any data used for this from their allowance, ala WebAfrica FreeZone.

We need like a client we can set up for dropbox, storeit and what ever cloud based storage we have. One program to run them all.
AKA like a explorer for you cloud folders on different cloud servers

Nah, we just need a common interface (protocol) for all these services. Then one client can connect to all of them.
