As the title suggests,

An Excel spreadsheet that displays my findings on getting internet access.

My criteria was:
- ADSL line
- Low installation cost
- No contracts
- Lowest data cost even if it's local only

My conclusion was. Order Closer Plan 1 or 2.
Order ADSL Self Install.
Get local only from Axxess. 30GB for R125.
My monthly cost is R677.97 for an 8Meg line and 30GB Axxess local only. Not bad.

List includes new ADSL prices.
I think this could help someone else.
Of course, I could have missed something or an ISP, let me know if you wanna add something.

List is at:
http://www.quickshare.co.za/files/ix2bprhf/Want_Internet_Access.xlsx.html (12.54 KBytes)

In the end I went with Fastest DSL and WebAfrica's 30GB @ R199 special.

Nice list for comparing current local only accounts. I would just add that if you really want to save every cent, and since you're going with Axxess 30Gb local, go with Axxess for the ADSL line as well. There is the hassle of waiting 2 weeks for the transfer to them (or back to Telkom at a later stage should you want to), but there is no interruption in service whatsoever. If your line is with Axxess, your may still use any ISP for ADSL accounts.

But it does bring the cost down a bit

Telk 384 = R152. Axxess 384 = R139

Telk 1024 = 289. Axess 1024 = R249

Telk 4096 = R413. Axess 4096 = R359

Nice tip. Would include that in some stage.

I actually went for the WebAfrica special. Would have a look and see if they can take the line over.
