Pornography dealers can start registering on the industry’s own exclusive .xxx web domain on Wednesday following its approval by an international regulatory body earlier this year, the domain operator said.

Great idea but just how the hell will they be able to 'clear' the normal .com/.co/ect with the sex sites? They will be trading everywhere.

Take it from someone within the industry, there is actually quite a bit of controversy about these new .xxx domains as well as their pricing. This early "sunrise period" actually sees them selling the domains at between $200 - $210 (http://www.xbiz.com/news/138283) This whole xxx affair has been touted as a big money making scam. Especially considering that most of the purchases are going to be companies with dot coms that are "forced" to buy the .xxx to protect their brands.Also, the possibility of ISPs, search engines and other to block the .xxx domain is also a bit of a worry.

Yeah I remember numerous articles and uproars by the adult industry regarding this. Seems their plights and petitions fell on deaf ears.
