Seeing as Cell C seem to be serious (or rather serrriaaas!!!? :wtf:) about ending the promotion and the fact that my current once off 60GB is about a month or so away from expiring, I went out looking for a SIM only package. I found that most of the stores I called only had the SIM and modem, so if you are thinking about renewing before the prices go up you best be quick. I ended up getting one from Kenilworth. Remember to take your ID and proof of residence for RICA.

Cape Town
Canal Walk - SIM & Modem only
Howard Centre (Pinelands) - SIM & Modem only
Kenilworth - Stock of both SIM only and SIM+Modem packs
V&A Waterfront - Might have stock

Feel free to add stores with/without stock to this thread.
 
Joburg :

Rosebank : 24GB sim only
Randburg : 24GB and 60GB sim only
Sandton : Nothing
Norwood : Nothing
Hyde Park Dion Wireless: Nothing

Note that I was only looking for the sim only package, I already have too many modems - if anyone wants a cheap E1820, PM me.

Got my 2GB SIM only from Morningside. Last one :-)

Did not activate. You got until Dec 31 to activate your 12 months.
 
Does anyone know if the 12 months starts when you RICA (they do this without breaking the seal), or does it starts when you first insert the sim into a modem and start using it ?

I would like to wait until December before starting the 12 months.

I tried to do that this morning, they did not want to sell me two 5 gig sims with out activating them in the store.

I am waiting for a response from the rep to see if he can help.
 
Anyone seen stock of the 5GB SIM in the Cape Town/Stellenbosch/Somerset West area?

Cell-C at Kenilworth Centre in Cape Town still have stock of the 24GB and 60GB SIM cards.
 
cell c store in quigney east london have 24gb prepaid datasims in stock. just bought 2 of them. Will only rica later when required as the 12 months only start counting onced rica'd
 
No 24gb sim only available at grand parade or strand street. Was told its only the sim + device deal ending

My managed to get a 24Gb sim yesterday afternoon, but did not RICA it yet. Just want to ensure that it would be fine if I only RICA it in December?

I currently have a 24Gb SIM in my phone, so when my old 24Gb SIM data deal expires, I would like to go over to the new SIM, but I do not want to loose my current phone number.
 
Yay got the last 60GB sim from La Lucia today :D Three cheers for the Cell C finale!

Anyway this sim will only get activated once I put it in the modem and use it right? Meaning I can keep this with its entire 60GBs data until my current one expires, is that correct guys? If so then how long are you allowed to keep it for?
 
I was told by the cell c rep on this forum that if you do not rica and only rica it when you are ready to start using it one will not lose any data. ie buy now rica later and it will only start counting down the 12 months from when it is rica'ed
