SEACOM problems only to be resolved next week (10 October 2011)

and it is killing us here at the office not even the bonded line is helping getting at least 6Mbps. I am on a 16Mbps bonded line and below is the result I am getting

need to sort it out as we need at least 10Mbp between our branches

Not sure why your local traffic is affected, should only be international sites...must be another issue at play.

it is strange. as when I do an international speed test I am getting roughly the same results but hoping all the issues get resolved soon as it is a major downfall as video is streamed for our company over the network thats why got the bonded line

Strange as it may seem, but my downloads seemed to be faster since Seacom has been down. On an uncapped Afrihost ADSL package.

man seacom has been plagued with problems lately. They must be pulling their hair out

Not everyone. Their Twitter PR guy couldn't be bothered to post anything for 48 hours. As I said in my tweet:
@SeacomLive takes 48 hours to report a serious outage on #Seacom cable to his customers. Lazy? Slow? Incompetent? Pick any 2

The cable goes down at noon on Saturday and he posts at noon on Monday. Not even first thing on Monday morning. Life must be tough at the top. :wtf:

Just a thought, isn't ESSAY and WACS online already? why are we still so dependant on SEACOM?

Mweb is completely immposible for P2P tonight, youtube is almost impossible, can't even get proper music streaming. On a backup Telkom account now. Its just so not funny that the oldest cable (SAT3) seems most stable.

EASSy is online and has been quite stable since it went live. WACS is only going live early next year.
