So what is the best exercise to help me lose some weight in your opinion? Something I can do every day.
I used to play squash, but injured my knee so can't play anymore. Strangely enough I'm able to play tennis, but that is fairly seasonal and a hassle to get a partner at any given moment.
I hate jogging with a passion and my doctor also said I should stay away from it because the impact on knees will not be good in the long run.

Also some tips on healthy eating, meaning for life (not diets) will be welcome.

Thx...the sexy blob :D

Do cardio intervals and mix with weights/body resistant exercises. It is what I am doing :D

I got a friend of mine started on boxing, 5min rounds on a punching bag, the guy has shed weight like you wouldn't believe.
Also got him on clean and press with numerous sets.

Yeah,(either do sprinting or a stationary bike-better for you because of the knees).

Cardio

(1) Start out at an easy pace(about 40% of your best effort) and keep it up for 90seconds.

(2)Sprint at the fastest pace you can maintain for one minute.

(3)Rest for 1 minute

(4)Sprint at the fastest pace you can maintain for 30 secs.

(5)Rest for 30 seconds

(6) Sprint as fast as you can for one minute

Weight workout

Do 10 to 20 repititions of each excercise;complete three circuits, resting for two minutes between them.

1) Squat jump
2)Push up
3)Invert row(I do bicep curls instead because I don't have the pole)
4)Lunge hop
5)Mountain climber

This is out of mens health and it great because the workout is 20/25 minutes.

The best way to loose weight is too eat less. Excersise helps but is not the solution. 90% of losing weight is proper diet. And by dieting I mean eat healthy and eat less. Do not go ON A DIET. Eating healthy is self explanatory and so is eating less. Don't worry about going to gym. Do any "100" program at home: 100 Pushups...100 situps etc. Just google it quickly.

How does this fit in with gadsbys? My bike is mocking me as I type this.

What worked for me is controlling my eating as well as cycling. It is quite expensive to get a bike, and a pain in the ass to get up in the morning but once you're out on the road it is a lot of fun. Should give it a go.

Exactly how fat are you and how much weight do you need to lose?

Swimming and walking. Take the stairs instead of the lift, park further away from the entrance to the shop. Go for walks when you get home. Eat less too.

Weight training. You may not lose weight, but will reduce fat.

And walking means briskly. Strolling is essentially a waste of time if you're looking for exercise.

I'm in a similar boat.. Currently 33 years old.. height 1.69m weight 87kg (last time i checked)
My knees are quite buggered so I can't do high impact exercise, and I broke my ankle a few years back (got the steel screw in my foot as a souvenir). Looking for exercises that i can do at home...
Also my eating plan has been sort of erratic.. some days I don't eat breakfast or lunch, and then end up eating too much for supper... or I would have days where I would eat lunch and then eat very little for supper (maybe a sandwich, or a few crackers)
