Vodacom’s iPhone 4S delivery failure

Am sure SiRi will know what happened :D.

Such a shame for Vodacom, they better get their act together next time a major phone releases, all the previous bad press should have made a difference but guess that was wishful thinking on our part :p.

Agh, seriously. What a bunch of babies. Five minutes after death is it really going to matter all that much that you didn't get your stupid iPhone 4S a few days earlier?

Yes I think Vodacom f*d it up again. No-one at Vodacom upgrades were aware of the discounted iPhone 240 contract. Both Vodacom shops in Canal Walk said they have received stock, but hadn't received any "deals" from Vodacom yet. I quoted the MyBroadband article about Vodacom's press release of the contract prices and they finally looked it up on something called Dealmaker, only to reply that the discounted 240 contract must be removed from the system and they cannot give me a quote on that contract. The only part of Vodacom that really seems to work is the billing.

So which stores have stock???

I'm particularly interested in the CPT stores????

Called around again today ... Most of the CPT stores ... No Stock!!! ..."... Add your name to the waiting list ..."...

Nothing new here. I'm still waiting on Vodacom to let me know the iPhone 4 I preregistered for has arrived.

Exactly.

My heart goes out to all the sheeple who got their stupid iPhone 4S' a day or two late. Oh how their little lives are now ruined by this tragic event.

it's not about getting the device late, it is (among others) putting your life on hold during the 5 hour delivery window, because you're told only one delivery attempt will be made.

Now my delivery window has gone to 9 hours, so I have to put my life on hold again, waiting for delivery.

In my case, nobody even offered a feeble 'sorry', they simply rescheduled and I have to be just too happy that I am one of the first batch of people receiving the new phone .

So what?

Things just carry on today like they did everyday. It's kinda funny that people think in South Africa a company would receive any kind of punishment for having bad customer service, lol.

Even with the delay, its still better than the experience I had with Virgin Mobile:
expected delivery in 10 days, instead I heard excuses for a month and when I eventually had enough and started swearing they told me that the couriers were on Christmas holidays. So I cancelled the order and less than an hour after that I had the phone from Vodacom.

Its a pity that Vodacom's actual cellular service can't match the performance of their sales people :(
