Best TV specials this week (13 April 2012)

Good deals. The older Samsung models are getting cheap. The quality must be not as good as other more expensive TV's.
 
That LG Pentouch screen at R22k blows my mind......

60" Plasmafor R22k is a decent price, to include the "Pentouch" stuff in that price is amazing.... I'm trying to con someone in my office to get a few for the boardrooms :D

I have a 42" one, it's very good. When I bought it I compared had it side by side with a Samsung. Picture was better, response was better. At the time a Samsung rep was there as well, I pointed it out to him, he shrugged his shoulders and offered me a R500 discount on the Sammy.

Guess what? I still bought the Sinotec.

I've owned both a couple of years back. A 32" Samsung and a 47" Sinotec. Used them as permanent PC screens and ran them in dual screen mode for a while. Had no problems with the 47" Sinotec and had paid R9k for it over 2 years ago when the same sized Samsungs were going for R15k+. The price differential is not so great these days. So maybe it is worth it now to get a Samsung just for the name brand. It does mean something to the gf or wife. If you buy a lesser known brand they may think you're cheap....hehe, even if the quality is just as good.

I guess we're just n00bs when it comes to reading, but if I were MyBB, I'd consider changing the subject slightly as to avoid confusion. I was actually looking for TopTV specials

The Samsungs/Sony bravia's are clearer and of higher quality than the other brands,not a huge difference but colours are generally rendered better......I currently own a Hisense and have had several brands in the past including sinotec,logik,telefunken and samsung.

The brand that surprised me most was Logik for clarity but quality was still not as good as the Samsung.
The main thing that made me get rid of sinotec is the ancient design,it just makes it look old and like a few years ago tech.
 
If you go to some of the game stores they're finally use a hd feed on the tvs there is a big difference between the unknown brands and know brands , even with the known brands there some models which aren't great . Best to go to game just to check it out ,even if your not buying a tv from them .

ps: of course there probably using standard settings on tvs and the signal maybe patchie , but you can easily tell what you'll get from the telly

Best answer to the man's question lol even better than mine!

That would be the best way to tell the difference,with the tv's next to each other running the same feed.:)

The sales guys purposely make the more expensive TV's look better in the store, otherwise everyone will buy the cheaper ones. You'll have to play around with the settings yourself to see the difference for sure (if the feed is exactly the same)

Yeah I sometimes play with the colour and brightness etc to get the levels around the same in store because the salesmen insist that they just take it out the box like that lol but rather be sure
 
I first bought the Sinotec 42" LCD, but when I hooked it up to my PC the output was very disappointing. I returned it to Makro the same day and bought an LG, much happier with it.

A friend had a 42 inch Sinotech and man that thing is k@k. He bought his about 5 years ago so the quality might have improved. Personally, I'll stick to Samsung, LG and Sony
