Good Morning guys,
Basically i have a Billion BiPAC 7300w Wireless-N modem/router.
its currently connected to two computers via ethernet ports which works fine
*my problem is that trying to use wifi in five rooms away is almost impossible.what i would like to know is,is it possible for me to use another Billion BiPAC 7300w to extend the wifi range to the "dead spots" in the house and if so,how would i go about setting up the second one?(which i'd have to purchase first--R599 from Makro) is there a guide or tutorials on the internet?im searching as i type but im not entirely sure what im looking for

Or alternatively, purchase this http://www.intellinet-network.com/en-US/products/8152-wireless-300n-4-port-router for R399 from walsoft computers in JHB Central. or maybe even an Asus WL-330GE(sorry i dont have a link for this one) R550 from walsoft as well

Am i mistaken in thinking that i should use the same brand as they can communicate with each other,or would they clash of sorts?

Any suggestions / recommendations are welcomed, but if i could be slightly picky could i ask if you exclude online stores,as i would like to go to the store and purchase it directly when i have time during the day.I know online stores have a wider variety and possibly better selection but its my pref to go in person.Im located in JHB if that helps

Thanks in advance guys:)

You need a Wireless Access Point (AP) - not a router.

Check out : http://www.scoopdistribution.co.za/index.php?cPath=49_27

for example.

Then you set it in repeater mode and it repeats all traffic it receives.

Am i mistaken in thinking that i should use the same brand as they can communicate with each other,or would they clash of sorts?

The WiFi (802.xx) stack is a standard. So they are all interoperable.

Also look into Ethernet over Powerline (scoop has some) if it would suit your needs.

Get a wireless bridge or try power line tech Iv used it at some of my directors houses and it works great.

Thanks for the speedy response stricken and Ry4n
Looked at scoop and saw "300Mbps POE Wireless Access Point" which might just be perfect, except i cant register with them, not being a dealer and all. Thanks for the link Ry4n,any place where i could get these in SA?
when you guys say Wireless Access Point or bridge, wouldnt the Asus WL-330gE work for that purpose?
i managed to get a link here :http://www.asus.com/Networks/Wireless_Routers/WL330gE/#overview
it says " Innovative Integration of Access Point, Ethernet Adapter, Gateway and Universal Repeater"
"This nifty little gadget is able to combine 4 wireless functions, namely Access Point, Ethernet Adapter, Gateway and Universal Repeater, into 1 - providing you with connectivity wherever you are."
Would said device only work with Asus products or is it an unsolved mystery?
if for example it does connect to the billion router
would that work if i mounted it in the room and ran cat5e in the ceiling?
Curious because i would like to run some other cabling soon, could add it to the list
