Chrome overtakes Firefox in South Africa (June 2012)

I will swap to Chrome the moment someone can tell me how to get Chrome to open with my past threads open without refreshing or loading the page as I click to view it.

Not sure what you mean exactly, but I use Session Buddy. It doesn't launch with my past tabs open, but it autosaves your current windows + tabs config and lets you reopen it with a few (3 or so) clicks.

When I open Firefox, all 15+ tabs open but exactly as they where when I close it, without the need to load anything. I can switch between all the tabs and only load fresh pages when I click on refresh or by pressing F5.

Most of the other Add ons I use have simular extensions for chrome but that and Tab Groups saves me loads of time when I start in the morning.

Nope that keeps the tabs but not the page data, it loads the pages as you swap to them.

Pre installed Office computers. Crappy sys admins that block people from installing their own and do not feel like extra workload by doing it for them.

What reasons would you have for swapping to Chrome ie what is it about Chrome that appeals to you?

I switched to Chrome (from firefox) initially because it had more screen space (more compressed bars at the top). Firefox has improved since then but I am now so used to Chrome that I am not considering switching back.

Android :(

Jelly bean is going Chrome native, would be nice to sync my history and tabs between phone/table/desktop.

Yes I know Firefox can do this 2 but its not native, besides bar the add-ons they almost identical lately.
 
I moved to chrome, because of the sheer speed of my flash games in it. and you get it on your iPhone now as well. :p
 
I just can't get a liking to chrome...just feels bloated...maybe it's me...
but on android I prefer Opera/Dolphin to FF and Stock browser.
 
I've been using Chrome on 32bit Fedora 17 recently because of a problem with Adobes linux flash-plugin on some sites when using Firefox but I still prefer Firefox (64bit Fedora doesn't exhibit the problem).

I have to say that there's nothing I dislike about Chrome though, it's just a personal preference based on familiarity :)
 
I've been building up frustration with FF for a while now - felt slower and becoming less responsive, hanging for a few seconds every now and then - this across 2 different pc's and a netbook, versions always updated.

Switched to Chrome a few weeks ago and so far so good. Had a few hiccups with displaying some Facebook pages properly etc, but that seems to be resolved. Generally it feels faster and more responsive than FF.
 
I still like FF and version 13 is much faster than previous versions.
