Hi guys, we all "brag" about our equipment... but what do you trust to PROTECT that equipment ?

I recently purchased a Nikon D5100 with the kit lens and 55-200 as well as a 50mm lens - the bag they supplied is kinda.. inadequate..
I am in the market for a decent bag, so what are your suggestions  to get one www.katabags.co.uk - but better / similar suggestions will be EPIC :)

remember, TIA :wtf:

Sadly not much has changed since I last posted this photo - though I do currently carry a couple cheap remote triggers, an umbrella (thank you Crazy Store!), a smaller 430ex2, and a lightstand/tripod that aren't in it.

I got some good use out of my previous bag (a kata) before my gear out grew it. The orange liner is awesome for finding stuff you might have dropped in it. I'm still looking for a rear lens cap I'm sure is still somewhere in my Lowepro!

It's the R-101.

The Rizla is for cleaning lenses. They're cheap and effective. :D

Funny that. I have a couple of bags that I want to eBay, and just last night I decided that I should probably write some reviews of them and get some blog mileage out of them before selling.

I have a lot of money invested in bags. If the search for the perfect bag over the last five years has taught me one thing, it's that I now understand why women have so many handbags!

I'll post more tonight.

I think there is still space left for a body in there

I don't have a photo of my bag, but you can just Google Domke F2. It's a great bag with lots of space for all your gear.

Mine holds my DLSR with 18-70mm lens attached, 75-300mm lens, filters, bridge camera, chargers, wires, usb cables, cleaning kit, some micro fibre cloths, extra memory cards, flash for the DLSR, Tablet and a big piece of black cloth that I use for a background.

Not with the 430exII (not shown) there isnt! Besides, with the laptop in there that bag is heavy!

Impressive! Doesn't you back hurt at the end of the day?

I'm usually shooting a match with that setup so I only need to get from the car to the pitch, unless it's out of town and then I have to make it look really light to get it onboard the plane. :D

These days I'm carrying my iPad instead of the laptop when possible.

You can now upload photos directly from your computer into a post :)

Nice setup, pity about the tab but hey, nobody is perfect right? :D

Tx. for the Heads-up ;-)
Samsung has treated me well, I will be honest though - the iPad 3 is next on my list, it's much better when it comes to multimedia in general

Can anyone recommend a bag for a 400mm f/2.8? The lens came with a very nice, rugged, hard shell case but it's huge and awkward to carry.

I thought lowepro might have one but their biggest is designed for a 300mm.

Doesn't the case have a sliplock?

Otherwise the larger Thinktank bags have loops on either side for large lens cases and/or tripods, with a sack at the bottom to help prevent whatever you attach from slipping out downwards. Can't recall models off the top of my head though.
Bonus is they're also accessible from both the front and back and all internal compartments are accessible from two directions as well - within the bag or from outside.
