New Telkom prices announced (28 June 2013)

Well then, this is great! Guess we can just as well get used to this. Prices keeps on going up. Hope they bump speeds now that they are planning on increasing the prices again
 
Well that sucks. I really felt that Telkom was going to drop their prices (even just by a small margin) after all this big talk from the new CEO.

Guess it is Telkom we are talking about
 
Clearly the management at Telkom does not understand the basic principle of supply and demand....

The demand for phone lines have been dropping which is clearly reflected in the rate at which Telkom is shedding fixed lines, yet the price keeps on going up....

Guess Telkom believes that they can maybe keep their revenue constant with an increase in prices.... OR they don't care as they know each ADSL user is forced to keep their line so milk that cow while it still has some life in it...
 
It's hard for CEO's to think when their heads are exploring the acoustics in their digestive tract.
 
Um you guys do realize that the cost of ADSL lines have stayed the same and that line speeds have been bumped up recently. I was hoping for a 5% or so decrease in ADSL line rental but the analogue line going up is simply to reduce the existing subsidy on analogue voice - so yes its the basic principles of supply and demand at work.

My speed hasn't been bumped up! So don't generalize. I was hoping for a 10% decrease in ADSL rental and make 4 Mbps entry level. But my hopes has been shattered!
 
Yes cost of dsl has remained the same but the service has decreased with around 20% so in effect we are paying more for less.
 
The price increase really isnt that bad. Its less than inflation. Doesnt bother me - unlike DSTV which are frieken thieves!
 
Telkom need to sort out their congestion first.
 
Telkom are without a doubt the worst company South Africa has seen in the last 30 years
