Cybersmart: Free uncapped hosting for everyone

Nice. Uncapped is a safe bet tho, with only 300MB space.

Its not free, they charge you R75 for a domain (be it a registration or transfer). Unless I am completely missing something here. Also, does this include a database? They dont make that clear either.

Kudos on the solar power move though. That rocks.

Free uncapped hosting for everyone

Cybersmart has launched free, uncapped hosting with PHP and MySQL support

Yet another stupid free, uncapped hosting scamming advertisement.

If you are a stupid consumer who love all the free uncapped things in life, remember to look around for something called the AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) on the services providers' website.

Here you will see the fine print of HOW UNCAPPED you really are - limits on nodes, limits on traffic on your site, etc., etc.

What type of hosting is this? Link to sign up? Had to dig a bit to find it myself
Come now lets see an article with good detail

Besides, if they do allow TRULY unlimited free hosting, I will gladly register a domain and transfer an existing one. I have a video-sharing website using almost a TB of data per day. It exceeds all allowable nodes by other hosting companies. I would love them to host it and I will grow it even larger than what it is now.

Best check their FUP on that. I know Mweb's FUP on their uncapped hosting explicitly forbids "sharing" and whatnot, it has to be directly linked to the website, ie images must be part of the webpage, etc.

I'd give this the benefit of the doubt and test if I had a freebie domain to test,as it stands not paying that 75 bucks to transfer if it blows up in my face :)

So am a noob at website design, any tips where to start and links to YT videos that will get me started? This may help me figure out a way to get some income and support the family at home :D legally.

Kudos for these guys to do this.

Joomla, Wordpress and Drupal are commonly used or requested. You may want to read some of this guy's advice, from Joomla 1.7, which is good as a guide, for a webdesign business.

Here is something I created to clarify issues, between client and website designer, which you may find useful and can modify, to sound nicer and fit into your way of working.

INFO FOR THE CLIENT:

Breakdown of Stages,Payments, Terms and Conditions of Website Design:

1) 50% IN CASH UPFRONT, then as work reaches the 50% completion point, any further work will be paid for upfront, progressively, in 10% stages, until completion.

2) No work whatsoever will be accepted at rates that the client considers appropriate. The client will be informed of the various costs, for a particular website design, once all the relevant info/specs/data regarding the website has been supplied.

3) A rough estimate of charges for services, EXCLUDES ALL COSTS for website requirements, such as hosting costs, domain name registration, template costs and any modules, extensions and plugins costs. The estimates/charges are to be considered strictly as only an estimate, are variable and are only for work/time input.

4) All prices exclude any specific artwork, text on images and logo creation which will strictly be quoted separately.

All work done up to the initial 50% completion point, then to each 10% completion point thereafter, will be proofed/signed off as accepted, by the client and the next progressive payment, upfront, will be made before any further work is done.

Any changing/redoing of work, after it was already accepted as completed, will incur further similar or even extra costs, depending on the work required, which is to be paid for upfront.

5) Towards 50% completion: INSTALLATION AND MENUS - Starting at R1000,00 for the very simplest site, to R500,000,00+ depending on size and complexity.
The 50% completion point will be considered to be the "installation on a server, of the template, with the main and sub menus and related links to pages created, including the installation of any modules, extensions and plugins" that will be required for the website.

6) Towards 60% completion: HOME PAGE SETUP - Starting at R200,00 for the very simplest site to R100,000,00+ depending on size and complexity.
The next 10% of work will be considered the creation of the "home page setup", with its related articles, modules, extensions and plugins positions.

7) Towards 70% completion: BULK PAGE SETUP 1 - Starting at R200,00 for the very simplest site to R100,000,00+ depending on size and complexity.
The next 10% of work will be considered the creation of the "bulk page setup for all pages that need to look similar to the home page", with their related articles, modules, extensions and plugins positions.

8) Towards 80% completion: BULK PAGE SETUP 2 - Starting at R200,00 for the very simplest site to R100,000,00+ depending on size and complexity.
The next 10% of work will be considered the creation of the "bulk page setup for all pages that need to look different to the home page", yet with their related articles, modules, extensions and plugins positions being similar to each other.

9) Towards 90% completion: TEXT INFORMATION SETUP - Starting at R200,00 for the very simplest site to R100,000,00+ depending on size and complexity.
The next 10% of work will be considered the creation of "text information/data, by copy and paste method, from text information/data supplied by the client, for page setup, for all pages that need to look similar and different to the home page, with its related articles, modules, extensions and plugins positions.

10) Towards 100% completion: IMAGE INFORMATION SETUP - Starting at R200,00 for the very simplest site to R100,000,00+ depending on size and complexity.
The next 10% of work will be considered the creation of "image information/data, by receiving them through email from the client, or by having the images sourced and then the links provided by the client, or the images described by the client and then sourced by the website designer, for page setup, for all pages that need to look similar and different to the home page, with its related articles, modules, extensions and plugins positions.

11) Once the completed site is accepted, no additional work or updates will be done, without agreed upon upfront payment. Any and all site maintenance will be done as per an agreed amount paid upfront, for an agreed upon amount of work.

Here is some more info on creating income online also. http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/341201-Second-Life?p=6277461&viewfull=1#post6277461
