Netflix and Hulu Land in S.A (Or do they??)

Hi All

Got this email today and was wondering how legit this is? :confused:

Bottom right of the add gives address globalsa.co.za. This redirects to NSA.co.za

Price is R353 for netflix and hulu combo- works out cheaper for me via unotelly
 
So a monthly charge of $8 becomes R256! I wonder if the service is even legal.
 
I suspect the service is "unprotected" (to borrow over terminology from gatherings and industrial action) and will get ISPs a little hot under the collar. MWEB might actually have had some foresight into this and proactively struck. Looks like something for intrepid journalists to chase.

While their T&Cs mention ISPA not seeing a logo.

Done.... Netflix does not have email support, but sure Hulu will reply.

If legal great, but I highly doubt it and you will be flushing a lot of money down the toilet.
 
Apparently they also offer a 20mb uncapped/unshaped account for R1400 and 40mb uncapped/unshaped for R1800

Something doesn't feel right about this company.

I'm sure Netflix and Hulu would make a bigger launch in this country than this

Oh and I their promo video for these Netflix and Hulu is pretty laughable

Mwebs 40mbps vdsl package is just over R1800 and their 20mbps jsut over R1400 ???

Yeah, I kinda missed that. However, Mwebs Unshaped 4mb package is R1900. They don't even offer a 20 or 40mb unshaped package.
 
Their Marketing image is laughable and very amateur, not to mention how retarded the video they made is!!

Seriously, I can't believe that there are businesses in S.A that run like this!
 
I guess we're soon to find out if Andrew Lange and Simon Thomas are mybroadband members. I find it hard to believe that they aren't...
 
I call BS! Everything about it seems a joke from the email and to the promo video... Then again, if it is real I don't see how any of this could be legal. Look forward to TheGrove next post with the reply from Hulu.
 
Ok, so what they are probably doing is facilitating the payment to hulu and netflix and acting as a unotelly type service.

They are adding on a bit extra but as long as they give support and make it more accessible this could work.

They will get nailed though....
