Telkom Mobile: 20GB for R199

RE Telkom Mobile.

If I use TM only data, I need to set phone to TM only? If I have roaming enabled, and it loses TM, will the phone connect to MTN and I pay OOB?

The contract comes with all network data- if I add TM data, that'll get used when on TM and the all network when roaming on MTN?

The call centre are too confused by the question to give me an answer... :(

this contract will use TM data only
afaik you will not be able to roam on mtn on this package
 
What makes signing the contract worthwhile for me is the mobility factor. Should I move within the next two years, as long as I am within a biggish suburb, I will still have signal. No worries like reconnection as in the case with a adsl contract
 
This is great. My current 8ta 10gb deal is almost done, and I'm definitely get this as soon as I can.
 
It will be interesting to see the effect of cheaper mobile on ADSL with its high line rentals.
If everyone moves to mobile because of better pricing, Telkom would effectively have helped killing ADSL and with it their own stream of income from other ISP's as well.

Just cancelled mine and getting something else as my backup to ADSL.

It began slowing a year ago and is now down to a crawl at dial up speed. That is if I can get a connection. But it was fast 2 years ago. There is no change after midnight either. Down is 1Mbps or less and up is normally around 1.5Mbps.

Signal strength jumps around from 5 bar to no bar, then 3 bar etc. Phone calls and complaints have not helped.

I suspect exchange congestion (Tableview, CPT). Wind, mist and rain also affect.

The Internet 5 Promo purely works on the Telkom Mobile network coverage. Hope this answers all the other questions raised above? (If you will not be roaming on MTN, then no out-of-bundle charges, etc).

- When will the contract end? 31 October 2013 or 30 November 2013?
- I am paying R299 for 10GB+10GB. Will Telkom drop the price to R199 if I renew or will there be more data added for the same price (R299)?

The end of November 2013.
You will be paying R199 for 10+10GB and ask them to remove the R100 nightsurfer from your account. That's what I did. ;)
