Hi Guys,
Just want to see if I am the only one.
This morning I suddenly lost ADSL connection, not dsl line sync, but just ISP dropped.
I have already spoken with Afrihost who has logged a fault with Telkom.
I have had a stable 10MB connection for as long as I can recall.
There is also no static or noise on the line.
Filter replaced , still the same.
When the ISP connection drops, I cannot connect to any of my ISP accounts, Afrihost, FNB or WebAfrica.
This lasts for a period of a few minutes, then ISP-anyone of them re-connects, only to drop again 10 - 30min later.
Same process repeates.
Afrihost could re-sync my line to a lower speed but that did not cure the issue.
The strange thing was not I nor they could do a Port Reset!
So just wondering if anyone else connected to the Brackenfell exchange 021-981, 982 are having strange disconnect issues similar to my experience today?
What a way to exit the old year:erm:
Happy New Year!
EDIT:
Those on Brackenfell exchange or in the area who would like to get VDSL should make sure they have registered there line or address for this service, it will give indication to Telkom where to prioritize roll-out in the next financial budget year.
I sure can do with a stable MSAN closer to home and some descent speeds, it will even pave the way for Fiber Optic to the home.
