Best and worst networks: Vodacom vs MTN vs Cell C

Now we hope the Network operators will get their Engineers out there tomorrow morning to assess the situation and start the process to resolve quickly.

The things with these drive-tests is that the route they select can heavily influence the results. So it does not always tell the whole story. Ideally you should choose multiple random routes. Also, I'm not sure if ICASA test all the operators (all 3 SIM's) at the same time on the same route or do the tests over a few days.

Really not surprised that Cell C fares poorly. I am fed up with their network - will never go Cell C again, no matter how cheap.

Interesting that the shape of the graphs look the same for both regions. It indicates that the more difficult it is to get a connection, the more reliable it is. Funny.

I see vodacom got a pass everywhere for everything. :)

Asking which SA network is the best is like asking which turd smells the best.

It is obvious that all our networks are crap...when will ICASA start fining them for providing poor services?

So basically since I work in Empangeni and live in Richards Bay I'm screwed with like all the networks......

where I live cell c works a charm, far better than vodascum and mtn. and without fail wherever I go I get better service on cell c than I ever did with vodacon :) western cape if you're wondering. personally, I'll take the odd glitch over the regular dropped calls from "the best network in south africa TM" aka vodaconyououtofyourmoney.

also, customer service levels at cell c are light years ahead of vodacon, and from what Ive heard, even vodacon has better customer service than mtn. I think that is quite scary

Cell C's reception is shocking.

I often receive an sms informing me I have 4 or 5 new voicemail messages from numbers I never received a call from in the first place. So obviously I had no reception and the callers were sent straight to my voicemail.
