Vox Telecom Fatpipe

It's a result of everyone on your exchange starting to download using their free midnight data. Has nothing to do with Vox in any way.
You're assuming that everyone here is on Vox, which is quite a stretch. But then a lot of your "clone" posts are.

Telkom provided me with a list of customers who also go through the same exchange as you (AntiGanda). They will be running tests tonight to confirm the same experience. The only difference is that none of the people whom I've been able to get on the phone have anything faster than 10Mbps.

I'll update once I get feedback.

Thank you for your renewed efforts. Let's try and get to the bottom of this. I'm prepared to accept that Telkom is not optimal, but there is ample evidence that Vox is also deficient. For example; I can see that the post-midnight problems coincided with the free data launch.

The same free data window that was launched by multiple ISPs during the same time frame.
Which was pointed out to you by Soul Assassin.

Incorrect. The Telkom one started last year. Same with the others I think.

Does anyone else use VOX for VPN?

I got timeouts over VOX last week, but my cheap uncapped, throttled, Incredible Connection account managed fine.
This was during office hours and in the evening.

This doesn't make sense AntiGanda, the problem is between 6pm and 11pm, has nothing to do with post-midnight.

HI.

I once again am having problems that when I game with WA there is perfect ping.

With Vox though - I have fairly annoying lag spikes when hitting 41.193.164.85

Please can this be fixed?

Find this file on Windows: %APPDATA%\livestreamer\livestreamerrc

Then set these settings:

hls-segment-threads=10
hds-segment-threads=10
This finally fixed twitch streaming for me. Thanks.

Now the question: Why is multithreading even necessary for us to live stream at anything more than 2Mbps? This is irrespective of which ISP I'm using btw. I thought it was VOX shaping but clearly something deeper is at play here. Is this controlled by Telkom? Only seems to happen at my home - at my office I don't need to change the threads to stream twitch on Source. Anyone know what is up with this?

I did some reading about it a while back and the general consensus was that Twitch uses a number of caching servers for their content to ease the load on their infrastructure. The problem is that these servers do not provide decent speeds and by default only one connection so the stream constantly buffers.

Sometimes you will get lucky and connect directly to a Twitch server but other times to one of the cache servers. Some ISP's also appear to either block all of the cache servers or somehow only connect directly to Twitch which is why they work perfectly all the time, even on the website.

This problem is not something that only affects us over here in SA but is widespread all over the US as well. From what I can tell the worst hit US users are those on Comcast, many who have 100 Mbps connections and can't stream without constant buffering either.

All of this info is what I gathered while trying to fix my Twitch problems, I didn't figure any of this out or test it, just passing on what I read.

getting problems with accessing carbonite.co.za again using Vox, please fix

I have endless issues accessing from MWEB. Have raised it and was told the fault is on my end. :erm:

Every other time I refresh Carbonite is either slow or doesn't work.

I cannot game with Vox at all due to bad latency.... I have to connect to another ISP so I have decent ping to local game servers...

Been waiting over a month and a half - no change yet... Its apparently a Telkom issue with no ETA...

That would piss me off.

Well my situation is pissing me off.

Going to suck if I have to find yet another ISP.
