New R99 Telkom Mobile deal

Looks nice.

What is the difference between the 1gig all network data and the unlimited Telkom Mobile data? Does that mean you cant use the unlimited data when roaming on MTN?
 
Yoh, count me in, thank heavens am not locked into a contract anymore :).

I think you correct Ockie :o , roaming limited to 1GB and the unlimited until 31st March 2015.
 
Wowzer I kept looking for the catch but I really can't find one... this seems too good to be true.

Mmmm. And what would happen if you take that sim and put it in a router and download stuff? Or do a hotspot with your phone? Do they have T&C's that they can wack you with?

1.Per minute billing
2.Unlimited data only until March 2015 which is only like 5 months.
3.Free telkom mobile calls only first 12 months.

Basically they made it too complicated/limited period of benefits and then after a few months you pay too much,needs per second billing in this day and age also.

Smoke and mirrors type offer.

No i am using the old telkom mobile smart 100 deal which was 5gb data per month , in my mifi for months now :p

I am sure telkom will just throttle the uncapped after 10gb or something

I think they either rushed or someone gonna get a kick for not slapping the good 'ol FUP in their :p. As said above, 10GB [this confirmed?] still a score for the monthly price.

10gig is still pretty darn nice. I would not mind going for this deal, but my contract still going till October next year :-(

Ok but then let's look at what happens after 12 month:
1. 1.15 GB data per month
2. 100 voice minutes per month

For R99 that alone is a great deal. Far better than anything else you can get as far as I know. And don't forget a cheapy phone that you can pawn for cash.

Just add a R10 fee to all new signups and get 10x customers to cover the price :whistle: or we can start an Ockie foundation Giva :D for you. ;)

Thinking of going pay as you go just for the data. The joy of dual sim.

Even after the unlimited data expires, this deal is still better than anything else in South Africa.

Please show me a better contract from another service provider, otherwise I'm not sure where your "smoke and mirrors type offer" comes from.

Oh, and the unlimited Telkom to Telkom phone calls for the first year is actually a HUGE deal.
