Official 2015 Super Rugby Thread

I thought all the reds were over the top. Yellows would have sufficed.

Pity the weather, the ref and the players didn't play their parts.

What should have been a great game of rugby between 2 world class teams, ended being a farce of epic proportions.

Spectators should get their money back!

No, the first 2 red cards were very very warranted. A case could be made for Steyn's, especially as the TMO only suggested yellow. The choke hold on Bothma was also conveniently ignored.

Aside from that, it was a game of attrition in awful conditions. We applaud the Boks and other test teams when they play games like that in the shyte weather.

I would revert to the Bulls stampkar en skop style of play and grind out points via penalties.

Which is basically what happened....

Nah dude, the first red set the precedent for the rest of the game! I thought it was harsh and a gross over reaction but following on from that Bismarck had to be red, Steyn had to be red and the knee in the back of Reinach had to be red!! And that is how quickly a game turns into a farce!! I'm sick of the card system and how it ruins a perfectly balanced and competitive game of rugby!

As for the quality of the rugby, it was poor from the 1st minute to the last! It just got exponential worse after the rain! It was never going to be the spectacle is was billed to be...

I switched off shortly after Steyn got his marching orders. Refused to spend any more of my weekend watching that circus and from the comments in here it seems the game deteriorated even further with yet another red card being dished out?! :wtf: Needless to say I was more than a little surprised to see the final score.

I cannot fathom how, with the assistant refs and all the camera's and TMO's, the players think they can still get away with dirty play.

As far as Bismarck is concerned, the oke should be dropped as Captain. Period. His lack of discipline is inexcusable because he needs to lead from the front and set an example to the rest of the side but he is just too reckless and irresponsible at times.

After catching up with everything that happened this weekend, I am so glad that I did not experience even 1 sec of rugby this weekend. (Especially the Cheetahs)

I think another weekend in Dullstroom is in order.

+1, I thought the red for the shoulder was warranted as he had already been penalised for a shoulder charge earlier. Thought Steyn was a bit unlucky considering the other tacklers around him. Bismarck's was far and away the most clear cut of the night, studs to the face will always be a red.

Chiefs captain Liam Messam has joined three other players in the dock after the spiteful and brutal Super Rugby encounter with the Sharks in Durban at the weekend.

they got the plick ..... now to watch as he gets 1 week

Catch anything?

Catch anything?

Nah. I don't even have rods. My brother caught a few though.

We were there for my dad's 60th surprise birthday weekend. No cellphone reception, no TV, nothing. It was so bloody nice to get away from everything.
