PS4 Online Gaming on MWEB

I would like to know if anybody else is struggling to do any online gaming with MWEB as their ISP and using the PS4 (or X1)

I have found that over the last 3 months, gaming on Mweb has been close to impossible. And after lightning took out my router (has been replaced) last week friday, I have been completely unable to play any online game on either of my consoles. If I however switch to a different ISP (For a short time, not extended) I can get into my online games, and play.

I need to find out if this is an isolated incident, or if this is bigger issue. Mweb is busy investigating, but heaven knows, I cannot wait forever for them to finish up their investigation, leaving me unable to play any games.

If you could please assist by simply stating your console, the games you play and if you are having problems, that would be great.

And PLEASE, no PC gamers. This is to investigate console specific issues.

Hi DERoestorf, I have spoken to our senior technicians and this does not look like a MWEB related issues as we are not receiving complaints about this from other customers.

Our tech specialists will be contacting you to troubleshoot in order to get this resolved.

Tell me what time will be convenient for them to make contact with you ?

Anytime after 16:00 will be best, as then I can run tests while on the phone with them.
 
Where you able to arrange the call? And can you possibly give me a time I can expect the call?

The call was made to the account holder, as per the notes on the system.

that is weird, as no call was made to me. I will PM you my numbers, can you please check if you have the correct details.

Another week without gaming for me. My line sync has suddenly dropped again, and right now I am only getting 2.5mbs on my dl speed.

At least Mweb will deal with telkom once the 5-10 working days have expired, and telkom still hasn't fixed the line issue.
 
So it is now almost 2 weeks, and I still cannot game. Honestly getting tired of waiting for Telkom to do anything. Though switching my line to make MWEB manage it, would make it better, but this is just stupid.

I am reaching the end of my patience now completely.

Hi DERoestorf, the latest feedback on your open line fault is as follows: Telkom has created a work order for a technician to attend to your fault as soon as possible.

On the phone now with Telkom, as I am typing this, and they know of nothing.

Honestly this cannot go on like this.

How long before something happens! It should not take this long!!!

I am reaching the point of cancelling my account. Lack of support is ridiculous. Empty promises and lack of urgency. Lies being told about me being called. I am sorry, but this is not service.

Intermittent issue before, now it is permanent.

It just keeps ongoing, and does not get fixed. Now we are waiting for Telkom, and the technician I spoke to last week friday's response was, oh, we need to wait 10 days, then we can escalate it with Telkom. Honestly. No urgency. They don't care about individual customers at all. All they care about is their bottom line

oh, and before lightning, switching to different ISP gave me a lot more stability, and better gaming experience.

MWEB manages your DSL line, so our 3rd Party team will liaise with Telkom and keep you posted as soon as any updates develop.

So, Telkom has fixed the line. it is synching at 4mb/s and the ping is 9ms

But guess what, I still cannot play games on my PS4. And that is only on MWEB. So back to you MWEB.
