I agree. Considering that they have no spectrum, the mobile operators should be commended for what they have achieved.

Can you imagine what would be possible if the government got its act together and provided the operators with spectrum...
 
Ok impressive....but as expected in those areas any plans to test down south, east or further west?
 
I'm using LTE at home on Telkom (Uncapped Promo), and for R700 I have my broadband needs satisfied. Streaming Showmax and Netflix flawlessly, running security cameras and normal internet access.

As a fixed-wireless service, LTE is brilliant and fills in the gap that wireline services leave behind, and for many people will be more than sufficient, unless we start streaming 4K or somehting like that.

The only issue is price, which I feel that Telkom is leading at the moment, granted its on contract, which is not an issue if you have an uncapped package and essentially immune to data discounts.
