Microsoft “tricks” users into upgrading to Windows 10

No sympathy from me... I'm tired of people who don't read dialogue boxes.

And if that popup happens at 2AM while you are sleeping, and the next day you are upgraded?

What is more worrying is why is this being forced so hard?

Just makes me not want Win 10 even less tbh.

Well form MS perspective it makes sense for support and development to have as many people on one platform as possible.
So if they can get it right to upgrade everyone then it means consolidation which means increased profit.

There is no place where you can say no thank you I don't want to install windows 10.

Same when IE is not your default browser, but you are forced to use it now and then. The "No, and don't ask again"-option actually means "No, but please bug me again next time I open this thing!"

That is both a very good and a very obvious reason for why they are doing it. Still does not make it kosher.

I'm tired of people that can't even read the first two paragraphs of a very short article. There is no option to cancel the upgrade and only one to delay it that isn't marked like that. Doing some further digging I also found out that windows update will recheck the "Windows 10 upgrade patch" update even if you continuously uncheck it.

So glad I never wasted bandwidth on installing anything beyond SP1.

It should be a class action for preventing hijacking user computers and large penalty. Similar to other malware.

It is thought that Microsoft's mobile plans will now focus on enterprises, and individuals, who value device security, manageability and Continuum productivity features hihgly.

It all in the marketing. You willingly installed malware.

But I agree. ;)

Security. Makes me wonder on the code quality if you can't even get an "X" right. AThats only teh smallest visible part.

Reminds me, I need to install my download Ubuntu 16.04

This forced upgrade nonsense is what made me finally jump to Linux. I haven't looked back.

Well then that will teach you to not set your PC to handle recommended updates the same as important updates, as under the Windows Updates > Change Settings screen.
Or just disable anything automatic in windows like I have done.
