We are having endless problems with DSTV signal at night.

During the day the Signal quality will be and stay at 100%.. but from around 19:30ish it will drop to 0, back up to 100, back down to 0... It will continue to do this untill eventually there will be no signal..

It seems to especially affecting SS1...

I have uploaded a video to Youtube to show what the signal is doing..

Any Idea what might cause this and how to fix it. DSTV installer says "new LNB and Dish" . The dish is oldish but the LNB is a month old SMART LNB.

The universe is telling you to get rid of dstv.
That is all

Your LNB is taking in moisture at night and drying out when the sun comes up. Get a new one.

Or, a bird is nesting in front of your dish when the sun goes down. Get a shot gun.

I have the same problem. Everything was fine and about a month ago all my HD channels started losing signal between 19:00 and 20:00. After 20:00 the only channels I can watch are the non HD channels until the next morning between 09:00 and 10:00.

My Explora also restarts a lot when trying to watch any HD channel after 19:00.

Mine doing the same but the Dish is a bit rusted and the LNB brand new..during the day everything is 100% but the problem starts at about 19:00...so it might be the Dish

When did it start doing this?

When did it start doing this?

I moved to another place,so the first few days were fine, but after that It started..probably in mid May..I saw some people say it might be the drop in temperature, but I tried everything from replacing the cable, aligning the Dish and LNB but quality still drops on some channels and other are fine..

Wow. I've been having exactly the same issues for over a month already. It can't be co-incidence. Dreading having to call the guys to come to the complex to check it out (non-communal dish, so I will have to cough up a few hundred zars).

Re-align the dish. My signal used to disappear just after 3 for like 1 hour on some channels.

Perished RF cable( the exposed few metres between the LNB and the house. Moisture at night getting through the damaged insulation. Inspect and if so quick fix. Replace the damaged part of the cable.

My decoder crashes often. Replaced it, but new decoder is doing the same. Is it possible it's LNB?

I have same issue with Explora moved my older extra-view decoda in its place and works perfect, Explora moved to spare room and problem moves with the Explora, I believe the Explora is a crap product.

Replaced cables this afternoon. All good for now. Will post if anything changes.

Cool hopefully it will be sorted..also replaced the cable but signal still dropping..was a temporary cable just to see if it was a problem with the cable guess not..

Do you use a splitter or switch to the room??might be the cable to the room or the switch..?
